It's been a while since Monkey last appeared here on my blog. Monkey was Ellie's favourite soft toy. He probably still is Ellie's favourite but she's at an age now where Monkey gets brought downstairs very rarely now. A few years ago he would go everywhere with her. He only seems to appear now when Ellie is feeling worried or anxious about something.
Ellie had been worrying about getting a lateral flow Covid test despite my reassurance, watching videos on YouTube and reading all about them she wasn't convinced. She had the test on Thursday. I went with her because I didn't think she'd actually go but she did the test and walked home smiling with a lot less to worry about. She said it was easy and she was quite pleased she didn't gag on the swab at the back of her throat. The test came back negative by the way.
Well hello Monkey! Glad to hear the test came back negative and I'm not at all surprised Ellie was concerned. This is a big thing for youngsters of her age group. At least she had Monkey for support. It's my eldest's turn next week but she had a COVID test a coupe o months back so knows what to expect (also negative thankfully). Hope the return to school goes well Kim.
ReplyDeleteWell done kiddo - the tests aren't much fun!!
ReplyDeleteHello Monkey, long time no see. We have this too with Bonnie and Sweetie, they both stay upstairs now. The Little Man, however, was gifted a little penguin for Christmas as part of a WWF adoption pack. He called him Pengu and it goes everywhere with him. I hope he copes going back to school without him. . I guess I should take a photo of him. xx
ReplyDeleteGlad the testing went well, as I've said before, my kids are actually excited that they don't have to do both nose and throat because they've already had 18 tests and are so used to them. My worry is that these quick tests are not so reliable and may turn out to be a complete waste of time and effort :(
Congratulations on the test results and Monkey looks like a cuddly friend. #MySundayPhoto
ReplyDeleteThat reminds me of my son's bear "Bear- Dee."
ReplyDeleteGlad it was negative. Monkey is very sweet. #MMBC
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy the test came back negative! I had never heard of this type of COVID test. I do understand Ellie doesn't bring Monkey downstairs a lot anymore, but glad she did this time. #MMBC
ReplyDeleteAh so sweet, Monkey looks well loved.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear it was negative.
Thank you for linking up to #MySundayPhoto
Bless, great the test came back negative and she was fine with it in the end, lovely to see Monkey being used as a visual prop for her anxiety, glad he could help #mysundayphoto
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the test wasn't as bad as she'd feared - and that Monkey was able to help! My daughter's Teddy used to go everywhere with her (and I lived in fear of her losing him). He still sleeps in her bed, but he never leaves the room any more.
