This week my Word of the Week is:
We have had some gorgeous weather over the past week. It really feels like summer is on it's way now. I love this time of year when it's warm enough to go out without a coat or jacket but not too hot that I am sweating. I don't do well in the heat. This week has been the perfect temperature for me, well apart from on a night time, it's too warm. I think we are going to have to change to the thinner duvet.
It was only yesterday when it really heated up and walking home from my dad's I was sweating! It was so good to get in the house and jump straight in the shower. We only got the shower put in before Christmas so I have been looking forward to using it during the warmer months to cool down and freshen up. It really is brilliant. I felt very indulgent during the week, I had a soak in the bath one afternoon and put a bath bomb in then didn't fancy washing my newly dyed hair in it so I had a shower after my soak. hehehe
On Monday Stu and I were out in the garden, giving it a tidy. I was waiting until my brother got around to taking our old fridge and cooker for scrap until I started sorting the concreted bit just outside the backdoor and kitchen window, he came yesterday so washing the garden chairs and table is a job for today. I am going to get rid of the weeds too and then we can really start enjoying the garden.
I told the girls off yesterday for complaining about being too warm. It was their own fault. They were dressed head to foot in black which of course attracts the heat. I only had black trainers on and my feet were burning. All winter they complain about the cold and all summer they complain about the heat, they're never happy. lol I am really enjoying summer dresses and adding a bit of colour to my outfits. I have even started painting my toe nails again when I am wearing my sandals and matching the nail polish to the outfit that I am wearing. I always seem to dress better when it's warmer instead of just cosying up in leggings and a thick woolly jumper.
We are going out for lunch tomorrow, I think it will just be Stu and me as Becky is on night shift and Ellie has said that she wants a lazy, pj day and to watch Grey's Anatomy! She started watching last week and is on the 2nd season already. I love that she loves it, it's one of my favourite shows. Stu and I are planning on enjoying the pub's beer garden. I have a free bottle of wine that I won at the bingo during the week that I think will go down well in the sunshine. hehehe
How has your week been? I hope you have had a good one!
We're watching Grey's Anatomy too! It was hot, hot, hot in Seattle yesterday, higher than average temperatures and all that concrete. So glad to turn on the air conditioning when we got back to the car. The area we were in was packed with people and their suitcases, they were heading to a cruise ship docked at the waterfront, off to Alaska. I'll bet the weather they have is glorious. I know you celebrate Mother's Day in March but it's ours here tomorrow so Happy US Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteIt has been such lovely weather this week, hasn’t it? I’ve really enjoyed the sunshine and warmer weather too. Sounds like you had a busy day in the garden. Hope you enjoy going out for lunch. #WotW
ReplyDeleteWe are enjoying the sunshine too. It's our favourite type of weather. Enjoy and let the girls complain if they like, lol. It will be what it will be.
ReplyDeleteMatching the nail polish with the outfit and having your toes done too is so fancy, I love it. I'm seldom wearing sandals. I know what you mean about the clothes. I need to retrieve my summer clothes and put away the winter ones. Walking around Liverpool in jeans on Saturday was so hot, I need a dress.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely that you are getting some warmer days! I can't complain yet as it's still quite warm over here even though it's still raining every day. I hope you had a lovely Sunday lunch in the beer garden, sounds like a perfect way to spend a Sunday xx
ReplyDeleteWe had a great week but our weather is still all over the place-- we went from in the 70's and sunny one day to waking up with it only being in the 30's the next morning! I'm still holding out hope each day that it is sunny and warm that we'll be starting a new summer weather trend but we'll see... this just might be one of those summers where it stays cool. That happens sometimes.
ReplyDeleteI like the warmer weather but my neighbours really take advantage of it with garden parties galore. I did manage to get my grass and hedge cut so the garden looks better. I hope you had a lovely day at the pub with your free bottle of wine :) The weather has turned here and we've been getting more rain, but the grass looks nice. My kids are exactly the same, moan about the cold and complain when it's hot! xx
