The Childhood Tag....

I saw this over on Freddies Mummy absolutely ages ago.....I do love a tag and it has been a while since I did one so here we go....

1. What were you not expecting/not prepared for before becoming a parent?
I did not have a clue to how much worrying I would do....When my girls were babies and were sleeping I would check all the time if they were still breathing, as a toddler were they speaking and walking quickly enough and now, are they eating enough sleeping enough, are they doing OK at school, am I being a good enough parent? Then there is everything inbetween.

2. What is your main piece of advice for new parents?
Go with your gut instinct....Yes read the books and take advice from others but do what you feel is right for you and your family...

3. How do you encourage family time at home?
We have plenty of family time over the weekend when the kids are at school....Electronics get switched off. Usually on a Saturday and Sunday morning and we do things together....

4. How do you balance being a blogger with parental duties?
My girls are 10 & 15 so I blog while the kids are at school and when they are home I dip in and out of social media...

5. What was your favourite toy growing up?
I loved my barbie dolls....I had tons of them and bags of clothes.

6. Have you kept any of your toys from childhood?
No. My mother threw them all out when I left home. She wasn't a sentimental person and thought nothing of it.

7. What are your children’s favourite toys?
My teen loves her tablet and laptop and my youngest loves all of her dolls and of course Monkey.

8. Do you actively limit the amount of screen time your kids have?
I try to. During term time they have 2 hours per day on their laptops/tablets and during the school holidays they have 3 hours. They can earn extra time by doing jobs. Ellie is good at rationing her time, Becky not so much. She is always asking for jobs....hehehe

9. How do you reduce plastic waste in your home? – Reusable bottles, buying wooden toys, avoiding excessive food packaging, etc.?
I am not great at this. We do recycle...I am obsessive about making sure everything is in the right bin and I have stopped the girls buying bottled water at school. They use reusable bottles now....

10. What advice would you give to parents who want to start blogging?
Do it! It is hard work, more than it looks but it is worth it.....I have made some wonderful friends through blogging and I have learned so much....

If you want to do this tag, go ahead. Feel free to copy the questions....
