This week my Word of the Week is: Back on track!

This week my Word of the Week is:

I know, I'm cheating and I'm using 3 words but I can't think of just one which means "back on track". lol

It's been hard getting into a routine after moving house with having the school holidays, new schools, colleges and jobs but we've found our groove. I thought we had settled into a routine a few weeks ago but now we've really found it and have a new routine which is working for us.

I finally caught up on the piles and piles of washing after having a broken washing machine for a couple of weeks. The new one is amazing! Every chance I got I put some on the line over the weekend and managed to get most of it dried outside despite it raining. Now with the amount we have I can manage to dry stuff indoors if it's wet.

It feels like we are back on track with our finances. I'm not going to lie but we have struggled since moving house. There was the cost of that, the kids birthdays and school uniform, bus passes and other things. Stu has been working for a month and a half, he's been paid so we now have a fair idea of what's coming in every month. It feels like a weight off my shoulders. We can now budget properly and I can actually start thinking about Christmas without stressing too much. Money will be tight but not as bad as it has been for the last few months.

The kids have been out with friends. Ellie a few evenings this week. Her and her friends went off on their bikes to the park one night after school but. What they failed to tell me it was the park in the next village over. A good 10 minute bike ride away. We had words and stressed that she must tell us where she is. She has since been as good as gold texting and telling me where she is. Phew!

I've felt a bit meh when it came to blogging over the past few weeks. I get like this every year but I always get my mojo back in October thanks to Blogtober. For the past few years I've followed prompts but this year I'm linking up with a group of bloggers just posting what I'd normally post. Some of these bloggers don't usually blog daily so it's a challenge for them, for me it's just about finding new blogs to read and meeting new people.

  1. I like the idea of doing blogtober - maybe next year I’ll join in with it. Glad you are feeling that things are back on track and being able to budget again makes life easier too x #WotW

  3. Nothing like Blogtober to get the blogging mojo going again :) I'm glad things are really coming together for you now. Moving house is really expensive, we ended up having to borrow money when we moved because we'd underestimated the costs. Thankfully that was years ago now and I've no plans on moving again any time soon (although a nice little cottage for one by the sea sounds appealing at times!) I'm sure your Christmas will be magical. x

  4. I'm constantly behind on laundry. There's no escaping it. I think the start of a new season helps to restart our mindset as well. I've also used Blogtober as a kick in the pants to get "back on track" with my blog as well!

  6. There is nothing as satisfying as getting the laundry sorted. It is nice to get back into the swing of things. We had a very similar incident with our 12 year old heading off to the next village. We now have a rule about contacting me before he leaves our village. I've always liked the idea of Blogtober. I do like friendly linkies to discover new bloggers. Hope you have a good weekend. #wotw

  7. I love your washing machine celebration. We lost our old washing machine at the start of the year and it was wonderful to replace it and start getting organised with it all again. Laundry is definitely my favourite bit of housework!

Good luck with the Blogtober challenge!
