Our weekly meal plan! 18th - 24th January. #MealPlanningMonday

Our Weekly Meal Plan

Last weeks meal plan went well. We stuck to the plan all week but changed things over the weekend again. I think having the kids home learning and being in lockdown is messing with my meal planning a bit. By the time it gets to the weekend we're ready for a break from the routine and being organised so for the time being I am just going to meal plan Monday to Friday and then when I do the food order during the week decide what we're eating on a weekend.

The kids are getting more and more demanding (in the nicest possible way) when it comes to lunches. They used to just be happy with a sandwich but now the weather is colder they are wanting something warm. They are getting bored of soup and pot noodles so I have bought some pasta and sauce pots, I've stocked up on baked beans, they can have them on toast and eggs so they can have eggy bread or scrambled egg.

On the menu this week we have:

Tuesday - Sausage, mash and baked beans.
Wednesday - Tuna pasta bake.
Thursday - Slow cooker chilli con carne and rice.
Friday - Pizza.

What are you eating this week?

  1. You can't go wrong with sausage and mash in this weather :o)
Toasted sandwiches are a yummy warm lunch and we also love cheese on toast (sometimes with pineapple or ham).

  3. I usually add an extra portion of rice or pasta to the meal in the evening and the kids finish that off for lunch with any leftover meat/sauce. Couscous is another quick option, to go with leftovers. We often end up veering off plan too at the weekend, but I still have a dish planned in case nobody has any particular ideas of what they want !

  4. I know exactly what you mean. My lot like a hot meal at the moment and variety. I miss grabbing a quick snack when I'm on my own or having something unorthodox like rice pudding for lunch. #mmbc

  6. Sounds like a tasty meal plan, Kim. I have been trying to give up cheese as it give me stomach pain but I really love pizza and it is not the same with dairy free cheese on it.
