Here we are at the end of 2023. It's been a pretty good year for us, getting big jobs done around the house, GCSE's, a prom, new friends, a little holiday, seeing family, the girls growing up fast and a wonderful Christmas. I really don't have much to complain about. I am excited to for the new year even though we don't have any big plans. I feel like I need a year of calm with no worry about GCSE's, no stress of planning holidays, dealing with train strikes and fingers crossed no wasps nests. hehehe
We have had a lovely week, it's all been about spending time together, relaxing, watching TV and eating. Stu and Becky have had a few days back at work but they're both off today and tomorrow! Hooray!
Now for a photo every day!
The big food shop was delivered, I was starting to worry as it didn't arrive until 40 minutes after my slot. The 30 substitutions weren't that bad and there were only 4 unavailable items. The fridge was full and we were almost ready for Christmas.

One of the unavailable items were parsnips which is a must for our Christmas dinner. I went off to the farm shop to get some, they had plenty and I couldn't resist buying a few extras like big pork pies, chutney and some lemon curd.

Christmas Day! We all got everything we wanted and more! One of Ellie's surprises was a Fluffie Stuffiez. You pluck all the fur off it to reveal a new one underneath and then stuff the fur into a plastic container to make a new one. It's very strange but Ellie was over the moon with it. lol

I thought my day's of getting the kids toys were over but even Becky got a doll, a Billie Eilish one. It's more an ornament, it has a stand, it's not one to play with. It's still a doll though. hehehe

It wouldn't be Christmas without a box of nice biscuits!
362/365 - 28th December
There was still piles of presents everywhere. Hopefully they have been put away by now.
363/365 - 29th December
Another set of PJ's. I did a couple of loads of washing and 90% of it was pyjamas. I think that sums up our relaxed week.
364/365 - 30th December
I have had this gel nail polish on since Christmas day and I love it! It still looks as good as day one. With normal nail polish it would be peeling off and chipped by now! I have had to buy some stuff to remove it as acetone free nail varnish remover won't do the job. Eek!

Party food that I need to cook today! I do love our New Years Eve party teas!
Wishing you all the best for the new year! Here's to 2024!
Sounds like you had a good Christmas. All the best for 2024!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good christmas. Looks like it was fun. Those doughnuts look really nice. We've got 3 boxes of biscuits, as I bought some then we got given 2 boxes. So much for my healthy eating starting tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteI love your nail polish, it looks so festive. You had a green nail polish if I remember correctly. That was lovely too. I have the same issue with this kind of nail polishes, I need to use something stronger to take them out and I'm not too keen on that. I would rather change the nail polish more often or keep it for shorter.
ReplyDeleteHappy new year to you and your family, Kim. Glad 2023 was a good year for you. Sounds like you had a lovely Christmas. 30 substitutions is a lot! Glad you managed to get the parsnips - definitely a must have on a Christmas dinner! The Fluffie Stuffiez sounds interesting. Gotta love a new year’s party tea. #project365
