This week my Word of the Week is: Nice!! #WotW

This week my Word of the Week is:

Nice

As we come to the end of the year I feel like I have that much going on in my head that it is making it hard to find a word. It's not even bad things filling my head, it's just Christmas plans, shopping lists and things like that. We've not had a bad week, it has been pretty good in fact but my brain isn't braining so we're going with the word nice! lol

The week started off with Storm Darragh which wasn't nice. We lost a couple of fence panels, a couple more were damaged and a couple more just fell. We weren't going to deal with it on Sunday as it was still rainy and windy so we went Christmas food shopping with my dad instead. It was nice to spend some time with him, we went out for breakfast and then headed to the shops. I think we got everything that I wanted and more.

On Monday the wind had died down and the it was showers of rain instead of constant rain so I got my brother to come and help Stu and I fix the fence which was so nice of him. He's a hero and it would have taken us all day if we didn't have his power tools. The fence seems stronger than it's ever been but the landlord has said next time it comes down we will get a brand new one. Hooray!

Becky and I went out for another Christmas dinner on Tuesday and it was so nice! We were sat right by the wood fire which was perfect and the food was of course amazing. It was nice to spend some time with Becky as she is really busy over the next couple of weeks.

For the rest of the week I have just been pottering around at home. It has been nice to have a break from going out and being sociable. The introvert in me can only take so much and then I feel like I've just had enough and need a break and Wednesday and Thursday was enough to recharge my social battery. I ordered some Christmas presents online for some people, I love the internet and how you can get the gifts sent directly to them. It is so much easier than wrapping things and going to the post office, cheaper too!

Yesterday we went to my dad's. He has decided that he feeds us now on a Friday lunchtime. He is less busy with work so has more time than just a sandwich and last week it was pizza and yesterday was pie's. I had a meat and potato one with baked beans and the pie was exactly the same as I buy from Iceland but it tasted so much better. It is nice when someone else cooks for you.

We have a nice weekend of nothing planned!! I am not planning on even leaving the house as next week we have a busy one with quite a few plans. One minute it was the end of October and now we're just a week or so away from Christmas. The last 6 weeks have gone so quickly!

How has your week been? I hope you have all had a good one! I am of course linking up with Anne who blogs at Raisie Bay for her Word of the Week linky!

  1. It does sound like you've had a nice week. I agree about food tasting better when someone else has cooked for you. I'm not sure where this year has gone let alone the month, time needs to slow down. I hope you've had a lovely peaceful weekend x

  2. Lots of nice things there, I hope you get to experience some more over the next couple of weeks. I don't know what I'd do without internet shopping, it's also nice being on the receiving end of someones gift spree xx

  4. Oh yes I can relate to having too much in your head at this time of year! Nice is a good word for your week though. Glad you managed to get your fence fixed after the storm. How lovely to go out for Christmas dinner with Becky and have that time together. Lovely to have time with your dad too and it is nice when someone else cooks for you. Hope you enjoyed a nice quiet weekend. #WotW
