This week my Word of the Week is:
I am starting to write this blog post on Thursday with a head full of things that I need to do and need to remember. We have had a full on week! We've had appointments, errands to run, news that I wasn't expecting this side of Christmas which put my head in a spin, shopping trips, wrapping presents, lists and more lists but hopefully by today things should have calmed down and my to-do list will be a lot shorter and more manageable.
Stu, Ellie and I went to town on Monday to finish the last of the present buying. Stu and I have been great for buying for other people but not ourselves. We picked up a few things for each other and ordered some more online when we got home. All I wanted was a specific Harry Potter Lego set and couldn't find it in town. It worked out well as I got it cheaper online than I would in the shops. It should be arriving today! Stu ordered a Dremel multi tool thing which made him so happy but he did laugh so much when he saw that I had ordered an Electric nail file, they're both practically the same thing, his gadget would probably take my whole nail off though.
Ellie has had a great week at college, not a full one because everyone finished for their Christmas break but she went in on her last day dressed up with some false Grinch nails on. She doesn't usually get to dress up or wear fake nails, she does electrical engineering so fake nails are a no, no and would make messing about with wires impossible. It felt like a real treat for her.
Becky has had a full week. A couple of shifts at work, Christmas shopping and her works Christmas party. She has plans for every day until the start of next year so her calendar is looking quite full. I don't know if she's coming or going, I can't keep up with her life at the moment. As of writing this she's in bed sleeping off a night shift but I did have to check, I wasn't 100% sure that she came back here to sleep or went to her girlfriends.
Yesterday we went off to my dad's with bags full or cards and presents. His and his partners and some for my brother and his family. I got a card off my brother earlier on in the week which said to a special sister and brother in law. I know my brother had nothing to do with the card, it was all his partners doing which I of course appreciate but it did make me chuckle how our families are so much the same. I organise everything for Christmas and Stu just goes along with it all.
Today is going to be the first day in over a week that I can stay at home and relax a little. I still of course have things to do but I can stay in my pj's which makes me so happy. I must remember to check on our online food shop and see what's out of stock as it's being delivered tomorrow and then our fridge will be full with all the Christmas foodie goodness.
Are you all ready for Christmas? How has your week been? I am of course linking up with Anne who blogs at Raisie Bay for her Word of the Week linky!
You desererve a weekend of rest after that busy week. It's great that you got the lego set cheaper online, that's often the case nowadays. I've started buying Jake's lego from the lego store online as they have some offers and freebies when you order. It sounds like you are all sorted for Christmas now all that's left is for you to enjoy!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you've been very busy! We've been away for a few days so I've felt a bit detached from Christmas planning, I did most of the shopping before we went so now it's just the food to sort! We have a shop coming this morning but there were a few annoying substitutions (no yule log!) so at some point I'll have to pop to the shops to pick up the extras, then we can stay in and eat and watch all the Christmas TV!
ReplyDeleteThe run-up to Christmas can be so busy – I can relate to having a head full of things too. How nice that Ellie was able to wear fake nails to college – it is a treat when you normally can’t wear them. Becky sounds very busy at the moment. We’re the same in our house with me organising everything and my husband just going with it all! Hope you managed to have a relaxing day at the weekend to recover from your full-on week. Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas x #WotW
