This week my Word of the Week is: Meals! #WotW

This week my Word of the Week is:

Meals

It has all been about the food this week, I think this is going to be the story of December, my whole month is revolving around food and we have had some fantastic meals this week!

It started on Sunday, we were being rather lazy, not doing much but then my dad came for a visit just after lunchtime and gave us some motivation. We got dressed and went to the pub for a carvery! I do love a carvery, we pick our meat and then help ourselves to all of the vegetables and Yorkshire puddings, oh and as many stuffing balls as we went. Even Ellie had one and has found a new liking for cauliflower cheese! Becky had been away for the night and met us at the pub for dessert. I love the desserts that they offer, you never know what you are going to get as they have new one's each week. This week the Lindt Chocolate cheesecake took my fancy. It was amazing!!!

During the week we had some lovely Gousto meals, the
Beef & Mushroom Pie was a new one to us and we will be making it again!

On Thursday I was out with a couple of friends for our Christmas meal and it was a good one! We went to Hungry Horse pub and as we had pre-booked the meal we were treat like VIPS. Our table was decorated and the attention from the staff was amazing considering it was so busy.

I of course had a prawn cocktail, turkey with all the trimmings and then an Irish cream torte. It was all so good. We enjoyed some festive cocktails. I am not usually a gin drinker but the Spiced Berry Sparkler one tasted just like Christmas with bramble gin and spiced berry syrup! It tasted like Christmas in a glass!

Yesterday we went to see my dad so we ended up having another meal out. It was nice to have a catch up with my dad at his as we've not been to his in weeks. He had the cold then I had it and we didn't want to pass it to each other in case it was a different strain of cold. We both couldn't have done with catching another on top of the one we already had!

Next week I will be thinking about the meals we are eating over Christmas because I have a morning out with my dad planned. He is taking me shopping. He always takes me to the big Iceland shop, Aldi, Farm Foods and a few other shops. I will be buying the turkey to go in the freezer, party food and goodness knows what else.

Today I have our Gousto box being delivered with our meals for next week. I am really looking forward to them but I will write more about them in my meal plan on Monday.

How has your week been? I hope you have all had a good one! I am of course linking up with Anne who blogs at Raisie Bay for her Word of the Week linky!
