My favourite things from 2024! Part 2!

Last week I shared some of my favourites from this year and here is the 2nd part. I soon realised I couldn't fit everything into one blog post. I am of course linking up Erika and Andrea to share these favourites.

What I loved in 2024

Music!
I feel like this has been the year where I have discovered loads of new artists. Chappell Roan actually made it onto my top 5 on Spotify Wrapped. I finally fell in love with Taylor Swift and then Eminem came back with new music! I forgot how much I love him and how he offends people. My favourite songs of the year were: Eminem - Houdini, Shaboozey - A Bar Song (Tipsy), Noah Hahan - Stick Season, Beyonce - Texas Hold ‘Em and Benson Boone - Beautiful Things!

Dresses!
I feel like I have really found my style this year and it came in the form of dresses. I have so many now which are great for all seasons. They come in all colours and I have moved away from just wearing blacks and dark colours. Most of my dresses have came from Shein or Primark.

Primer!
Can you believe I only discovered Primer this year! Before this year I just used to put my make up on with nothing underneath! Eesh! Now I use Primer my make up seems to go on better and last for longer! The one from Primark is still a firm favourite and at the moment I am a big fan of one I got from Shein.

A new kitchen!
Sort of, we just decorated and painted it all so it feels like a new kitchen! It took a week to do the outside of the cupboards and another couple to finally finish doing the inside of the cupboards. The light grey pain on the cupboards makes such a difference, it seems so much brighter in there now and somehow feels bigger too!

What I have been watching!
I have watched some great things over the past year. Mr Bates vs The Post Office, all the Walking Dead spin off shows, Baby Reindeer, Better Call Saul, One Day, Bridgerton, The Olympics, The Umbrella Academy, Station 19, The Eras Tour off Disney, the Barbie movie, Wicked, Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody and I rewatched Game of Thornes, Heroes and Grey's Anatomy. I have become obsessed with Gilmore Girls.

Dry January!
In January of this year I did dry January which meant I didn't drink any alcohol, it was a nice way to start the year as well as saving some money. I don't drink much to start with, a bottle of wine a week if that but after Christmas it felt like a great way to start a new year. I didn't drink again until the middle of February and I am planning to do the same in 2025.

A break away and Comic con!
During the summer we had a fab few days away, we didn't go far we just spent the weekend in Hull but the break was still nice. We went there for Comic Con Mania. My family are all big fans of anything like that and we had a fantastic time. It was the best weekend.

Emergency Services!
We have had our dealings with all three of the main one's this year. Police, fire brigade and the NHS and they have all been amazing! They stepped up and helped us with the drama we had during the summer which I still can't talk about. It's a process and I have found out it is a long, dragged out process. Ugh.

My girls!
My girls have done me proud this year! They have both had their own challenges to overcome and they have done with their heads held high. They've both made mistakes and have learned from them but on the whole they are working hard and are good people. I couldn't ask for more!

Football!
I am not usually a football fan and then international tournaments happen and I get obsessed. It was the same during the summer with the UEFA European Football Championship's (The Euro's) and I went through all of the emotions watching the matches: happiness, sadness, fear, anger and just plain stressing out! We made it to the final of the tournament but lost to Spain.

  3. Your dresses all look lovely, I tend to only wear a dress on a special occasion but would love to start wearing them more. The kitchen is looking good, it's amazing how much small changes can make to a space. It's great that the girls have overcome challenges, you look very proud of them in the photo. Wishing you lots more favourite things for 2025 x
