Our weekly meal plan. 12th Nov - 18th Nov! #MealPlanningMonday

Last weeks meal plan went really well. We ate just about everything. Yesterday we had a Chinese takeaway because nobody could be bothered to cook.

I decided for this week instead of getting my usual Tesco shop I would get one from Iceland. We were running low on freezer stuff. I over bought and now it's rammed full. Oops.

Have we all seen the banned Iceland Christmas advert? I think it is shocking that it was banned from TV for being too political. It raises such an important issue and gets the point across well.

This week on the menu we have:

Monday - A turkey breast joint with mash and veg.
Tuesday - Fish steaks in butter sauce with new potatoes and peas.
Thursday - Cheese & onion crispbakes with potato wedges and spaghetti hoops..
Friday - Fish, chips and mushy peas.
Saturday - Spaghetti Bolognese & Garlic bread.
Sunday - Leftover bolognese in Stand 'N' Stuff Tortillas.

  1. It’s madness that they have banned the ad. I should do a big shop there too - probably need to defrost mine first!

  3. Every time I go to Iceland I overbuy and my freezer becomes overfilled - I really need a much bigger freezer and then I could shop there more!

  5. That's the first time I've seen the advert though I had heard all about it. How heartbreaking and I don't think its political, no more so than those "Give us £5 a month to save the snow leopard" adverts! #MMBC

  7. The Iceland ad stuff is ridiculous but may well play to the brand and more vitally the cause's agenda in the end. Intrigued by your casserole meal and will check out for sure. Also you have made me crave a Chinese takeaway! #MMBC

  9. The ’Iceland advert’ is actually a Greenpeace film, which they’ve changed the last two slides of. The message is still valid of course, but I do think it’s a somewhat dishonest publicity stunt... They knew that film would never get approved as a ’Christmas ad’. Anyhow, to save the ’Rang-tangs’, apparently the best thing is to look for palm oil which is certified as SUSTAINABLE. To boycott palm oil totally will mean it’s replaced by alternatives which is likely to cause issues for other animals, I’ve learnt. Xx #MMBC
