This week my Word of the Week is SIX! #WotW

This week my Word of the Week is:

the word six

It's been one of those weeks where I can't pin down one word to describe my week so I am going to use the word Six. I am going to tell you about six different things that have done this week. Six is a special number for me today.

Blogging!
Today is my blogs sixth birthday! It is crazy to think that I have been daily blogging for so long! I did not imagine when I started blogging that I would be here six years later. I'm not going to lie, there has been a couple of times when I have been close to jacking it all in but Stu and the kids have always been so supportive. I am proud of my little space on the internet and want to say thank you for reading and supporting me.

Operation!
Has anyone else been watching Operation Live on channel 5 this week? They have been doing live operations. Replacing a heart valve, a knee replacement and removing a tumour. They have been pretty amazing to see. I was pretty anxious watching the heart surgery knowing that my girls have been through that type of surgery and will probably need similar when they are older but it was fascinating. The knee surgery was brutal, all the hammering, drilling and sawing but still amazing and the tumour removal I think was the most interesting. It is amazing how they can move your insides about. Eek! The NHS really are heroes. The surgeons, nurses and all of the staff. The make surgery look easy.

Festive!
This week I have felt so Christmassy. The Festive Bakes are in Greggs again. I have had 3 in the past week. Oops. hehehe I have ordered the advent calendars to come with the shopping tomorrow. The kids have gone for the Reese's one and Stu and I the Quality Street one. I don't usually pay more than a couple of pound for one but these seemed OK at £5 each.

Work!
Becky didn't start work Saturday gone. Ugh! Some paperwork hadn't been approved in time but she will be starting tomorrow. Stu has been working ridiculous hours this week. No more than usual but his usual shifts have changed. Last night he didn't finish work until midnight because of the pre-Christmas stock take.

Shopping!
I seem to have spent so much money this past week. I am just about finished with the Christmas shopping. I think I have one more Amazon order to do for a few bits and then I'm done. I was lucky enough to win a giveaway from Chelsea Mamma for a £50 Smyths gift card which was perfect at this time of year. I got the kids a few extra presents which they will be very happy with. I was very pleased with delivery. I used the standard free delivery and it arrived the next day. It makes me quite glad that I didn't pay extra for next day delivery.

Excited!
It's my birthday next week! I can't wait. We had planned to go out for our evening meal but I can't be bothered with going out into the cold and dark so Stu and I will be going out for lunch then I am going to do a bit of shopping. I want the Harry Potter pj's from Asda and of course I need a birthday cake. I will probably get an Indian takeaway on the evening. It's always my treat meal because the kids aren't keen and I only seem to get it on my birthday or Mother's day. lol

  1. Happy Blog Birthday, well done for keeping it going for six years! You won't catch me watching Operation, I'm totally squeamish. But my eldest daughter actually works in an operating theatre and sees it all daily, although she mostly works in the heart theatre. Well done on being nearly ready for Christmas, I'm doing so bad this year. I have the money in the bank but I don't have a clue what to buy and I haven't been able to get out to any shops. It's my birthday soon too and I'm really excited because I joined a birthday present group on Instagram. There are 8 of us altogether and on each persons birthday we all send a present...so I'll be getting 7 surprise presents on my birthday! Thanks for linking up to #WotW xx

  2. Happy birthday to your blog for today and to you for next week! How amazing to have been blogging for six years - I think yours was one of the first I discovered and it's one of my favourites - always love reading your posts. Well done for watching Operation Live, I have to confess I couldn't bring myself to watch it. I'm impressed at how organised you are with Christmas shopping - I've hardly started mine! I hope that Becky's first day at work tomorrow goes well x #WotW
