Our weekly meal plan! 18th - 24th March. #MealPlanningMonday

Our weekly meal plan

Last weeks meal plan went well. We almost ate everything but changed things on Saturday and instead of having home made pizza we had home made Chinese takeaway with sweet and sour chicken balls, chicken chow mein, salt and pepper chips, spring rolls and prawn toast.

This week we are back on the Gousto boxes this week and for the next few weeks, I already have the meals picked and booked. I have realised that if you have a few weeks break Gousto will try and tempt you back with money off their boxes. In our break we we got a £5 off voucher and 25% off two boxes. Next week we're even treating ourselves to one of the premium meals which cost something like £1.50 extra per portion and we're not spending any more than we usually do.

We are getting our new cooker installed today, the gas man is coming to do the boiler check and thought we'd kill two birds with one stone and get him to install the cooker too. Thankfully Stu is here to deal with him because as lovely as the boiler man is, he's very chatty and I don't like doing small talk. I just hope everything goes OK as this house is ridiculous and I have a feeling that the cupboards were built around the old cooker. When we got the new broadband installed we noticed they build a wall over the carpet so with this house nothing would surprise me. lol Fingers crossed the new cooker fits.

On the menu this week we have:

Monday - Stu is cooking, hopefully something in our new cooker. I am thinking something out of the freezer. Either cottage pie or lasagne.
Tuesday - Gousto meal - One Pot Pork & Beef Cheeseburger Macaroni, the girls are very excited about this meal.
Wednesday - Gousto meal - Tomato & Pulled Chicken Thigh Potato Topped Pie.
Thursday - Gousto meal - Crispy Chicken Katsu Curry Burritos.
Friday - Gousto meal - Sesame Beef Burger With Pickled Slaw And Chips.
Saturday - Pizza. We will eat it this week.
Sunday - Sunday lunch out! A roast dinner with all of the trimmings.

What are you eating this week?

  1. Good luck with the cooker installation! It's so annoying when you discover problems with the house when things need doing.

  2. Reading about your Gousto meals makes me think we should try Hello Fresh again. It's so nice to get a box with the recipe and everything ready to go.

  3. I used to participate in Every Plate boxes and these made dinner so easy! I found that it was more cost efficient when my husband and I made meals for ourselves, but now that the kids are eating our meals too it becomes more expensive. I really miss it though. Visiting from #MMBC

  5. Your homemade Chinese takeaway sounds delicious!

Good luck with the cooker installation. I'd love a new one! All the numbers are rubbing off our dials so I sometimes have to guess the temperature!

  7. Yummy meal plan. I bet you are enjoying cooking all of this in your new cooker. The One Pot Pork & Beef Cheeseburger Macaroni sounds amazing, I will have to look out for that one. Let me know what you think of it. xx
