I hope you are all enjoying the long Easter weekend. I saw something on FB the other day: "It's all kicking off at once this weekend. Easter, April fools, clocks changing and bank holiday!" There was a lot going on. Becky was so happy as she finished work an hour early, it makes up for the extra hour she worked last year when the clocks when back. lol
Last weeks meal plan went well but we did swap everything around. Stu tested positive for Covid and couldn't taste much so we saved the nicer meals like the roast lamb for the end of the week. (it was amazing). The Sausage & Caramelised Onion Sandwich really surprised me too, I will be making the onions coated in tomato ketchup again. I think they would be great on burgers or hot dogs in the summer!
We're having a break from Gousto this week as Stu is off work and Ellie is off college and we have a couple of things planned. Well as long as they go to plan as the girls and I seem to have avoided Stu's bout of Covid so far. I am dreading coming down with it this week.
This is going to be a strange week for food as I am not really planning what day we are eating what as it all depends on what we are doing, the weather and how we are feeling. We are eating out a lot but it's not like we do it every week.
On the menu this week we have:
A gammon joint with new potatoes and some other veg. We're going to the farm shop, hopefully today to get some flowers for the front garden and their veg is always amazing.
Freezer food! Our freezers are so full and I there is still things left over from Christmas. So we are going to eat some of that. I found sweet potato fries, Heinz Beans nuggets, chicken pieces on sticks and some bags of stir fry with chicken, noodles and rice in.
A meal out at our local pub, we never went on Friday evening or for Sunday lunch as planned with Stu being poorly so we're going to go one evening during the week.
Ellie needs new trainers so we're going to eat out in town while we are there and probably won't want much for our evening meal.
We are also going to go to the all you can eat place in Hull sometime during the week.
I am sure we will eat pizza sometime during the week and if my family are in the mood we might make our own.
What are you eating this week?
Sounds like great meal ideas. And thanks for reminding me that I too have leftover food in the freezer. So we'll probably have leftovers 3 times this week which makes me happy so I don't have to cook as much :)
ReplyDeleteGammon with parsley sauce was one of my favorite meals when we lived in the UK. I need to inventory my freezer too, I'm sure there are some buried treasures in there!
ReplyDeleteI had to remake my weekly menu at the last minute because we had SO many leftovers from hosting Easter and I'm trying to use them up. I also have a busy week and I'm trying to find some easy and quick meals. Hoping you and the girls stay healthy!
ReplyDeleteHey, Kim, these sound like great meal ideas. Your making me hungry. Lol. The all you can eat place sounds great.
