Sunday 25 August 2024

Week 34 of #Project365 18th - 24th August. A photo every day for a year!

Happy Sunday! What do you have planned for today? We have no plans at all apart from being a bit lazy, catching up on the washing and I am going to do a bit of baking.

We have had a good week. We've not really done much apart from pottering around the house and just enjoying the last of the summer holidays although it hasn't much felt like summer, it's like we skipped that part and jumped straight to Autumn. We had quite the storm during the week, the garden took a battering, my poor plants were blown all over but at least the fences stayed up. Phew! It has felt chillier too, I have had to wear a jumper and socks. Eesh. It's supposed to warm up again next week, hooray!

Now for a photo every day!

Sunday lunch
Sunflower and fireplace
Mac n Cheese and my fella
Me and apples and pears

231/365 - 18th August
We went to my dad's for Sunday lunch. It was a nice walk out and good to have a catch up with him and his partner. The food was good too. It's nice when we eat out at the pub but sometimes a home cooked Sunday lunch feels like a treat.

232/365 - 19th August
I finally have a sunflower growing in my garden. Just the one, it miraculously survived the storm and is still standing tall.

233/365 - 20th August
The fireplace is a dumping ground for my family, they put things on it and it seems to collect clutter despite my nagging. I cleared it all the other day and so far it's still clear. This might be a record!

234/365 - 21st August
I made the pepperoni pizza mac n cheese meal from Gousto and it was a hit with all of my family! They want it again already! It was so easy to make too, the tomato crumb was just breadcrumbs, tomato puree and a little drizzle of oil.

235/365 - 22nd August
Our friend brought us gifts back from a break away in Scotland. Before she came back she has said she had got Stu a hat and this was just what I imagined. hehehe

236/365 - 23rd August
Just me realising that I desperately need my hair dying, my roots are so bad. It's on my to do list for next week as well as doing Ellie's hair. She needs hers trimming and dying too.

237/365 - 24th August
My dad gave me a bag of apples and pears off his trees. I am going to spend today doing some baking. Pies and crumbles.

  1. Sunday dinners are the best! Especially with super thick gravy.
Pretty sunflower! Mine are looking a bit battered after the last storm but still going strong.
    Love Stu's hat lol! Hehe.
Are you sticking with pink for your hair? I'm due to dye mine again as well.
Yummy pies and crumbles! Sounds yummy xx

  3. We just had some thunder rumbles loud enough to shake the house as I was reading your blog so I guess we're getting a storm today! That mac and cheese sounds like something my family would like too.

  4. The pizza mac n cheese looks so good! I can also just imagine what you're baking today. It's wonderful to be given fresh home grown fruit. #MMBC

  5. The storms have been wild for summer haven't they. Glad your sunflower survived. I expect most of our apples will be windfalls by the time we get back from hols - my FIL swipes them for the cows as he doesn't think they should be eaten. But hopefully we'll get lots for the freezer once we're back.

  6. The Sunday lunch looked delicious. Your sunflower is so pretty. Thomas’s one from Boys’ Brigade has grown well but the flower isn’t as big as on your sunflower. The photo of Stu with the Scottish hat made me chuckle. Hope you enjoy the apple and pear crumble. #project365

  7. I scrumped some cooking apples the other day, got the cinnamon and brown sugar ready to make some crumble, yummy. I love autumn, just don't like the winter that follows. We've not had any bad weather yet, other than some heavy rain but the garden needs it, so I don't mind that too much. Our dumping ground is the kitchen, currently full of hubbies tools and paint pots, drives me mad
