How is it Friday already? This week has flown over! We have had a good one, we've not been up to much really but it has been nice just doing our own thing and whatever we want. I am of course linking up with Erika and Andrea for their Friday Favourites.
I saw that the 4th and last season was released on Netflix last week and I jumped straight in to the new episodes and didn't have a clue what was going on. Time to watch it from the beginning! I forgot how good it was!
On one day in 1989, 43 infants are inexplicably born to random, unconnected women who showed no signs of pregnancy the day before. Seven are adopted by billionaire industrialist Sir Reginald Hargreeves, who creates the Umbrella Academy and prepares his "children" to save the world. In their teenage years, though, the family fractures and the team disbands. Fast forward to the present time, when the six surviving members of the clan reunite upon the news of Hargreeves' passing. They work together to solve a mystery surrounding their father's death, but divergent personalities and abilities again pull the estranged family apart, and a global apocalypse is another imminent threat.
The characters are so different from each other and the soundtrack is just brilliant! I only found out this week that The series is based on a collection of comics and graphic novels created and written by My Chemical Romance lead singer Gerard Way!
This coaster!
15 years since heart surgery!
This time 15 years ago we were getting ready to go into hospital for both of my girls to have open heart surgery, I blogged about it yesterday. It's something I don't want to remember, it was such an awful time but at the same time we celebrate it as the girls are here, healthy and are doing well!
An unplanned night out!
Stu rang from work, while he was on his afternoon break and asked if we wanted to go out for tea. When he rang I was walking home from my dad's so was feeling quite stressed, I am still not doing well at being out of the house so I said no, I don't want to go out. By the time he had finished work, early which was a treat in it's self I had changed my mind and me, Stu and the girls went out for tea and I am so glad we did. The food was of course amazing and it was lovely to catch up with some friends that I haven't seen in ages.
A prawn Tartlet!
My favourite ever starter is a prawn cocktail and I didn't think that such a basic starter could be improved but it has been! Our local pub is now serving a Prawn Cocktail Tartlet! All that is different is there is less lettuce and a pastry case in it's place which makes it even more amazing to me, not being a huge fan of lettuce!
Stu's birthday!
Today is my fellas birthday, I had planned a night away but that was cancelled because of things happening at home. We do have some things planned for today which should be nice for Stu, at least he remembered to take his birthday off work this year, last year he didn't bother and it was rubbish as we hardly seen him. I think Becky has got him the best present this year. 36 pairs of socks, they were a bundle off eBay, all new of course. He is always complaining how he can never find any socks as we all pinch them, there should be no complaints now. hehehe
Ice cream and lollies!
This week has been a warm one, every day has been in the high 20's sometimes reaching 30C which is pretty warm for this part of the world. Opening the back door and windows was a waste of time, it was just letting hot air in so we sat inside trying to stay cool and all of the ice cream and ice lollies have helped. We've had all different flavours and types. I am so glad I stocked up and I bought more to come with the grocery shop yesterday.
What have you loved this week?
36 pairs of socks! What a cute idea.
ReplyDeleteThat prawn tart looks yummy! I hope Stu had a wonderful birthday and enjoys his socks. My husband keeps trying to talk me into getting a new kitten but I am so done with having pets.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you managed to go out and enjoy some nice food. I'm sure it will get easier as time goes by.
ReplyDeleteAlso glad Stu had a great birthday. What is it with socks going missing? Haha. It's the same in our house.
Can't believe it's been 15 years since your girls heart surgeries. You must have been beside yourself with worry. So happy that they are both doing so well now. xxx
