Well, last time I did a Project 365 blog post was a couple of weeks ago, I think. I seem to have lost all track of time at the moment. I am not going to write about why I have taken a bit of a break from blogging but I am here today sharing some photos from the past couple of weeks. I haven't taken many and there certainly isn't one for every day but these are one's which make me happy!
We went to Comic Con Mania in Hull a couple of weekends ago and had a fab time. Becky's day was made when she saw a huge model of Deadpool. He is her favourite, I was going to say superhero but he is more of an anti-superhero. Hopefully by now she will have seen the Deadpool & Wolverine movie, we were going to go together but real life has got in the way.
While we were away Becky and I bought some artwork, obviously the Deadpool one was hers and mine was the Marvel one which I love. I still need to find a permanent home for it. On the Saturday evening after Comic Con we decided to have a little picnic in the hotel room, Domino's! It was so good, expensive but just how I remembered it.
The weather has been a little bit crazy this year, it is starting to feel like summer now but every year I always remember picking blackberries later in the year, the end of August at the earliest but mostly in September. When we were out and about just under 2 weeks ago we saw some ripe blackberries. Autumn is coming early. Eek!
We had a bit of normality and went out for lunch. We had a lovely roast gammon dinner. Up until a couple of months ago I hated cabbage and loved it when I got it on a Sunday lunch from the pub. This time there was red cabbage and it turns out that I love that too. Even Ellie ate it and she hates most vegetables. I also had the most amazing Lemon meringue pie, it was home made and you could tell!
My garden has been suffering with the lack of watering. I keep forgetting about it. Oops and when I do remember I water everything and then worry about over watering them. The tomatoes are still doing well, in fact better than well. Some of them are almost turning red.
I have of course been watching some of the Olympics, lots of the diving and gymnastics and some of the boxing, swimming. We seem to be doing well with the medals. What I want to watch is the equestrian events but I keeps missing them. Hmmf.
Great to see you back. I've been watching the equestrian events; Sophia has been riding since she was 10 so she knows everyone and everything about the Olympic equestrian events. We have a streaming service so I moved all the events to the My Stuff bookmark, and I can watch the replays (the live events are on in the wee hours of the morning here). Team GB is doing amazing!
ReplyDeleteAh, I'm not surprised you've not been keeping up to date with photos and posts. Nice to see you back. I'm loving the Olympics. I'm recording all the BBC stuff, then can whizz through and find what I like, so have caught bits of the equestrian stuff. I did pay for Discovery, but haven't actually watched that yet. I might go back and watch some of the gymnastics stuff they weren't showing, and all the horse bits.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you had a good time in Hull. Cabbage is one of those foods that you learn to love. I think I also disliked it as a child and will happily eat it now!
ReplyDeleteYou've had a lot going on in your life in the last week, and it sounds like fun. Everytime I see an athlete at the Olympics from Great Britain, I think of my blogging friends there. You're doing very well in men's gymnastics. Have a great week! #MMBC
ReplyDeleteI've been watching a lot of the Olympics! I'm glad Becky enjoyed comi con, my kids used to go all the time. I think I only went once and got excited to meet tom Baker. That was quite a while ago though. I'm sure my girls would like to go now, but the queues are humongous and none of my kids 'do' queues. xx
