My top 10 favourite foods. #Blogtober16

I am taking part in Blogtober16 and will be writing posts with various themes/prompts throughout October....

This was so hard choosing just 10 foods....Some of these will be meals.....Some will be single foods. They are all foods that I love....If I just had to eat these for the rest of my life I would be happy!

Scampi, chips and peas.
If we go out for a pub meal this is always what I order....It has to have tartar sauce though. I remember being a child and my mother ordering it when we had a meal out. When I was old enough I did too....

These are from Tesco's frozen Christmas range....I discovered them last year and kept ordering them until they went out of stock in about March. I was gutted!....They are chicken breast pieces in a satay spiced marinade, coated in coconut breadcrumb with a coconut curry dip....The dip is amazing! I was doing my shopping a couple of weeks ago and now they are back in stock! Hooray!

Strawberry Trifle.
I am quite shocked in myself that I don't have more desserts on the list....Strawberry trifle is my favourite by far. It doesn't have to be fancy....I quite like the cheap one's from Tesco.

Domino's Mighty meat pizza.
When we get a Domino’s we always order this....It has tomato sauce, pepperoni, ham, ground beef, sausage, red onions, mushrooms and mozzarella cheese and is delicious especially with the BBQ dip!

Prawn cocktail salad.
I love these and they are so retro. hehehe....I have loved then from being a child. I always used to have at least one over the Christmas period and it's a tradition which I have kept up....My girls love them. It has to be served with fresh brown bread though....If I'm having a meal out and a Prawn cocktail is on the menu I have to have it! In fact I love them so much I have seen me order two with a side of chips and have it just as a main course...lol

My Aunty Jeans fruit scones!
She bakes them perfectly! Whenever she visits she brings me a bag full of them.....I have tried to follow her recipe but they are never the same....

Christmas Dinner.
This is cheating a bit as it's more than one type of food but I could eat Christmas dinner every day.....My fella says it's just a Sunday dinner but it's not!....When I make it there's at least 2 meats. Turkey and pork as well as pigs in blankets, roast and mashed potato, at least 3 different types of stuffing, roast parsnips and about 8 other types of vegetables....All covered in gravy with the option of mint, cranberry and apple sauce. I usually have all three....

Bacon sandwiches.
These make mornings so much easier.....I usually have one on a Monday at about 11am. It's a fantastic way to start the week.....It has to be fried bacon in white bread with lots of tomato sauce!

Dinky Doughnuts.
Those little one's you get from the fair....I love them when they are still warm....

Spaghetti Bolognese.
This is a real classic and probably the first meal I learned how to cook myself from scratch....It has to be served with lots of garlic bread....It's just not the same without it.

What's your favourite food?

  2. Ooh love this list - making me hungry too! Bacon sandwiches, Christmas dinner (definitely more than just a Sunday roast dinner, warm dinky donuts and strawberry trifle would be contenders for my list too but I'd have to also include crispy duck pancakes! Nom nom :-)
