Feeling the cold... #WotW

This week my Word of the Week is:

It has been a cold week....We had a little snow on Sunday evening which caused much excitement. The girls were dreaming of a snow day on Monday and were hoping to be off school but it was not meant to be. The schools remained open....We had about half an inch of snow which froze over and was no good for snowballs or snowmen...Hmmf! It was very slippy though...Eek!

The kids have been very generous and shared their germs with me....I started with a cold on Monday lunchtime and have felt rotten all week....Achy, sneezy & snotty on Monday, Stuffed up on Tuesday and by Wednesday I started with a cough....Thankfully this week I didn't have much to do so could just wallow in self pity....lol I am so rubbish at being ill and complain a lot. I really am worse than the kids....

I started to feel a little a little better yesterday which was just as well because it was Ellie's school play. They did Lights, Camel, Action which was full of dancing and singing.....All the kids did so well especially Ellie, my dancing angel....

It was quite bittersweet. All of these Christmas events and activities will be Ellie's last as this time next year she will be in secondary school where they don't do anything....On Monday we have the school church service and a handful of children have been given speaking parts and Ellie is one of them!! She is so chuffed and I am for her....

The biggest excitement at the secondary school in the run up to Christmas is they have 2 days of Christmas dinners....Becky has had 2 this week. She loves them just as much as I do....lol

  2. Secondary school is such a contrast, isn't it? We've had exams and tests running right up to the last minute. My youngest is in his last Primary year too. I am making the most of this year. Sounds like we had less snow than you. Hope you are feeling better now. #wotw

  5. I am planning on taking hubby out for a sneaky Christmas dinner before the kids break up, it's lovely when you can get to enjoy one and not have to deal with the washing up afterwards! I hope you are feeling much better next week so you can get fully into festive mode. I have to tell you though, my little ones are doing nothing this year for us parents to join in with (yes, they will have their school parties and xmas jumper day, but no concerts or plays) I'm most disappointed. My eldest, though, has a concert for us to go to next Tuesday, so I will look forward to that. #wotw

  7. Well done to Ellie on her school play and hope she did well today too. I can imagine it is very bittersweet coming to the end of the Christmas events at school. I do like the sound of 2 Christmas dinners though! Hope you are feeling better too - colds are horrible things x #WotW
