May has came and gone in a blink of an eye! Becky is in the middle of her GCSE's, Ellie is just plodding on at school and I have been busier than I've ever been. June is going to be an even busier month for us but it should be exciting with us moving house.
Decluttering!
Decluttering!
I have spent May having a good clear out in preparation for moving house. Clothes that I never wear and some which don't fit either of the girls, books which have just been gathering dust, random things from the kitchen, toys that the kids never play with and much more. We've given it all to the charity shop. Now the packing will start. Eek!
The Handmaid's Tale!
I am sure you have all heard of The Handmaid's Tale. Wow! I started watching it and was hooked from the first episode! I watched the two series in a week which was good going considering I couldn't watch it when the kids were around.
Based on the best-selling novel by Margaret Atwood, this series is set in Gilead, a totalitarian society in what used to be part of the United States. Gilead is ruled by a fundamentalist regime that treats women as property of the state, and is faced with environmental disasters and a plummeting birth rate. In a desperate attempt to repopulate a devastated world, the few remaining fertile women are forced into sexual servitude. One of these women, Offred, is determined to survive the terrifying world she lives in, and find the daughter that was taken from her.
It's horrific, shocking but you can't stop watching! It's one of those shows I feel daft for not watching sooner. Series 3 is coming soon. Eek!
Bolognese Mini Pizza Burgers 4 Pack - £1.70 from Tesco.
Have it your way four mini pizzas with tasty ground beef, cheese and tomato topping or for a larger appetite, place two pizzas together to make a burger! These are amazing. It's not very often you can buy bolognese pizzas in the shops. They are great for a snack!
Dip Dab Softies - £1.00 from Tesco.
A chewy vanilla and strawberry flavoured sweet that is coated in sugar. I ate a whole sharing bag myself and loved them. They are a little fizzy but not too much. They're my new favourite sweets!
Walkers Poppables Sweet Chilli Snacks - £1.99 from Tesco.
A 3D shaped snack with a light & airy texture, seasoned with Sweet Chilli flavour inside and out. I love sweet chilli but crisps are usually too spicy for me. These are perfect though. They leave a tingle on my tongue but not enough to burn my mouth!
Chernobyl!
I did not think I would like the new series which started on Sky Atlantic a few weeks ago but it is brilliant!
Based on the real-life tragedy of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant explosion tells the harrowing, twisted story. It details the events leading up to the explosion and explores the aftermath of the catastrophe, following the stories of those affected by the disaster and those charged with containing the nuclear fallout. The story is both fascinating and utterly tragic.
What did you love in May?
What did you love in May?
I would really have to think about this, I'm not sure what would make my list. I still haven't watched The Handmaids tale! I think I'm one of the few x
ReplyDeleteI loved the book but I've not seen the Handmaid's tale on telly yet! Must get round to it...

What a lovely round-up of May! I am all up to date with Handmade's Tale now and can't wait until the next series! We are really enjoying Chernobyl too! It really opens your eyes just how devastating it was.
ReplyDeleteJayden tried those pizzas the other day and he loves them :) x
I tread The Handmaid's Tale for my degree and have horrible memories of the book, I'm not sure that I would want to see it on television.
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your packing, moving house is a great way to get rid of clutter :o)
