Our weekly meal plan! 21st - 27th June. #MealPlanningMonday

Our Weekly Meal Plan

Last weeks meal plan went well. We ate everything during the week and of course changed things on Saturday like we do every week. The thought was there I suppose. On Saturday we got the chicken buckets from Asda and had a sort of fake KFC with the chicken, fries, onion rings, garlic mushrooms, salad and coleslaw. We had sausage casserole on Sunday. I thought ahead and made extra mash so we have plenty for today.

I am so glad the weather has been a bit cooler, it makes it so much easier to cook. Looking at the weather forecast for this week it looks like rain with it warming up towards the weekend. As much as I love the sun it was getting to the point where it was just too hot and trying to sleep wasn't much fun. One night last week we had the bedroom windows wide open and I was messing about on my phone and the moths were coming in attracted to the light on my phone. I soon put it down when one had landed on me a couple of times. Eek! It took me ages to get to sleep after that ordeal.

We don't have much on this week. It's my great aunt's funeral on Wednesday but I am not going as numbers are still limited because of social distancing and there is only 30 odd people allowed to go and there are people who need to be there more than I do. I am OK with not going.

On the menu this week we have:

Monday - Mince and dumplings with mash.
Wednesday - Hot dogs in buns with corn on the cob.
Friday - Pizza.
Saturday - Chicken fajitas.
Sunday - A roast dinner of some sort.

What are you eating this week?

  1. At least you didn't get a takeaway on the Saturday, we often end up with a takeaway when things don't quite go to plan so well done you! Hope you're well and thanks for linking up x

  2. I like the sound of the garlic mushroom and chicken spaghetti and the English breakfast frittata - have imported those recipes into my meal plan app so I can give them a try at some point. I hope that all goes well with your great-aunt's funeral. It's such a shame that social distancing means you can't be there though. Thinking of you and your family x #MMBC

  3. I was doing so good with my meal planning up until this past Thursday!.. I'm just finding that I have zero ambition to cook any of the items on our meal plan. I'm definitely going to have to tweak it before I go grocery shopping.

  4. Ooh garlic mushroom & chicken spaghetti sounds like a winner - I've noted it down for future reference ! It's a shame you can't go to the funeral but you'll have to have a little think about her at the time - she sounds like a lovely lady and she'd definitely be smiling down at you ! Ewww moths ! Not surprised you turned your phone off ! lol

  5. We've just had our last take out for a while because my next pay day happens to be the week before we go on holiday. I have to admit though, I do prefer a fake KFC to an actual one, you can buy them just as tasty and they are far less greasy. I'm sorry you can't go to your great aunts funeral. I couldn't go to my cousin's funeral last year, it's a sad situation. xx
