Our weekly meal plan! 20th - 26th February. #MealPlanningMonday

Our weekly meal plan

Last weeks meal plan went surprisingly well considering it was half term. We ate everything apart from the beef nachos on Saturday as the kids wanted to make their own pizzas.

The Asda Valentine day meal deal was nice. We had roasted mushroom arancini hearts and garlic bread for starters, Vegan Wellington, creamy mash and chantenay carrots with Yuzu & Lime for the main. The wellington was just OK, it tasted rubbery but the mushroom and pastry part was good and we had Belgian chocolate raspberry hearts for dessert. It wasn't the best Valentine's supermarket meal we've ever had but it was something different.

This week is going to be busy. We have builders in putting insulated plasterboards on the living room wall which sounds easy but the radiator has to be taken off, the light switch moved and who knows what they're going to do with the coving around the top. Thankfully Stu is off work so he can deal with them as well as decorating Ellie's bedroom. I think that is going to be a big job as to be able to decorate he has to take her bed down as her bedroom is so small. I have a feeling it's going to be a crazy, stressful week! I might just hide out in the kitchen.

On the menu this week we have:

Monday - Chicken casserole, dumplings and mashed potato.
Tuesday - Pancakes!! Savoury one's if I can convince the kids but we'll probably just end up having sweet one's. Lemon and Golden syrup are my toppings of choice.
WednesdayMini tomato glazed meatloaves with mashed potato and carrots. We love meatloaf but the big loaf size one's always seem such an faff to make, I am seeing how I go with smaller one's.
ThursdayChinese chicken and sweetcorn soup which is a new recipe for me. We all love chicken and sweetcorn soup but I've never tried making it before.
Friday - Pizza.
Saturday - Burgers in buns with fries.
Sunday - We are planning to go to the pub to watch Newcastle in the final of the Carabao Cup so will have something to eat when we're there.

What are you eating this week?

  1. I hope everything goes well with the builders and the job doesn't turn out to be too messy and stressful for you all. At least Stu will be home to deal with it. Good luck xx
