Our weekly meal plan! 16th - 22nd October. #MealPlanningMonday

Our weekly meal plan

Last weeks meal plan went well, we ate everything that I had planned although it wasn't all on the day that I had planned. The girls and I went and did a bit of Christmas shopping in Hull and by the time we got home it was after 5pm and I didn't feel like cooking the bacon & bean casserole so we had pot noodles and had the casserole on the Friday when I had more time to be in the kitchen. We loved the meals from Gousto! The pork & mushroom Udon noodle stir fry was our favourite meal, it was such a quick meal to make and tasted so good. It was one of those meals that I kept thinking about after I'd eaten it that I want it again and I will make it again.

This week we are having a break from Gousto, there was only a couple of meals that we really wanted to try and we would have been picking 2 more meals just for the sake of it. It will give me chance to use some things out of the freezer and then I can start thinking about buying things for Christmas to put in there. I have already got my Asda Christmas delivery slot for the big food shop, I am sure they released their slots early this year.

On the menu this week we have:

Monday - Minced beef, onions and mushrooms in gravy in giant Yorkshire puddings with carrots and mashed potato.
Tuesday - Pea and ham soup with bread rolls. Our favourite soup which we call Shrek soup. hehehe
Wednesday - Sausage pasta with garlic bread.
Thursday - Random tubs out of the freezer with chips. When I cook big meals there's always leftovers which I put in tubs and into the freezer. We have the chance of having Bolognese, curry, sausage casserole or a surprise which I've forgotten about.
Friday - Scampi, chips and peas.
Saturday - Meat free sloppy Joes with potato salad. We had this from Gousto ages ago and love it.
Sunday - Pie, mash and veg.

What are you eating this week?

  1. I just walked in the door this afternoon after a long weekend away and I have no clue what we're going to be eating for dinner this week...I'm hoping to get some ideas from around the web and go grocery shopping in the morning. I'm going to have to check out those meat free sloppy joes!

  2. I love the idea of freezing leftovers and then pulling out a meal whenever you need it. I will have to do that as it would come in so handy,

  3. All sounds lovely but I'm working backwards through the last few weeks so I know you didn't end up eating most of this ! Absolutely love the idea of freezing leftovers - a real time and energy saver plus it reduces food waste so it's win-win !
