What I have loved this week! Week 36. #FridayFavourites

I'm tired. This week saw my youngest return to college in her 2nd year studying electrical engineering. She was excited to get back to college and I have been looking forward to getting back into a routine. I am of course linking up with Erika and Andrea for their Friday Favourites

What I have loved this week

A change in the weather!
I know most people will be sad to see a change in the weather and it getting cooler but I am loving it. I can wear my boots again and some of my more Autumn type dresses. I am not liking all of the rain though, I always seem to get caught in the downpours when I am out.

Favourite meals!
Becky has all of this week off work so I decided to have a break from our usual Gousto boxes and make her favourite meals. Becky has been so happy that I have gone to the effort and it has been great to have some of our favourite meals too.

September!
Where has this year gone? I am happy it is September! I always think of September as a new beginning with the new school year starting. We get into a good routine with early nights and family meals together. It is also when all the new things come on the TV. The Voice UK has already started and the new series of Strictly Come Dancing starts in a couple of weeks!

A late birthday meal out.
Ellie's birthday was last Thursday and our favourite Chinese takeaway was shut as they were on holiday so we went to our favourite place in town where it's an all you can eat buffet for a set price.

Food from the all you can eat place

This is always my favourite plate of food. Fried mushrooms and onions, prawn toast covered in sweet and sour sauce, noodles and cola chicken!

Bus rides.
I am having to take Ellie and pick her up from college because of things that happened during the summer and I am enjoying the bus rides mostly. If there was no rain and teenagers they would be fun but it's something different that I am doing with my days and I am treating myself to a drink from Starbucks every day, it's like a reward. hehehe

Ellie settling in well at college.
Ellie was half looking forward and half dreading the return to college but it has all gone well. There is new people in her class, school leavers which she has been helping find their way around college and an older guy who at the age of 60 has decided to take up a new profession. This week has been a fun week of scavenger hunts, doing obstacle courses and going through all of the rules of the college, again! Next week see's her start studying properly.

Old episodes of Hollyoaks.
I love the soap opera Hollyoaks and I was on the All4 app watching a new episode and saw the episodes from 2012 and thought I would have a look and I am hooked on watching them now. It was the era of Brendan Brady, all the students and so many McQueens.

A break away.
Not for me but for Becky, my eldest. She has booked a few days away for her and her girlfriend. It's a treat for her birthday which is next week. It's a city break, a couple of trains away and they have some great plans. I can't wait to hear about their adventures.

What have you loved over the last week?

  3. Becky's break sounds fun, can't wait to hear all about it. I'm sorry that you have to take Ellie back and forth to college but we do what we have to do for our kids, don't we?

  4. I love this time of year too. But it's freak weather lately isn't it?! One minute they are threatening thunderstorms and today was like being abroad it was that hot lol.
The food looks yummy! I could just eat that on your plate hehe.
Aw, Hollyoaks, I used to watch that years ago and never missed an episode. I probably wouldn't know half of the characters now though.
Hope Becky has a lovely time away with her girlfriend. xx

  5. What a great week of favorites! Wishing Ellie another great year at college. I've been enjoying our weather a lot this week... and it nearly inspired me to put out some of my fall clothing today.
