What I have loved this week! Week 37. #FridayFavourites

This week has gone in a blur, with my youngest back to her usual college routine, it was Becky's birthday, she has went on a break away and Stu and I decorating the kitchen! I will be glad when all the DIY is done and everyone is back at work so I can find my own little routine. I am of course linking up with Erika and Andrea to share my Friday Favourites.

What I have loved this week

Buses/walking!
Last week in my Word of the Week post it was all about buses and how I was getting 6 a day to get my youngest to college and back safely. I've had a change of plan about them and I have cut it down to 4 a day and I am doing the walk from college to town on a morning and on an afternoon from town to college. I realised that in the time I was stood waiting for the bus I could have done the walk. It takes about half an hour and as long as it's dry it isn't a bad walk. The exercise will do me good too.

Autumn dresses!
I love this time of year, it's big coats, boots and autumn dresses. I got this one off Shein last year and I still love it and it's lasted well even thought it's a woolly material and has been through the washer lots of times.

Autumn dress and Sally

The Sally shelf sitter!
A few weeks ago we got the Oogie Boogie from The Nightmare Before Christmas shelf sitter from Primark. It was only a few pounds but there was no Sally until this week, we had to get her. Ellie said she matches the walls in the newly painted kitchen. hehehe She now has a home on a shelf in the kitchen.

The Great British Bake Off!
It's back, well on the 24th of this month and that means that it's really Autumn and the dark nights are coming. My girls and I have a tradition of watching it and always having a cup of tea and some nice cake!

Painted Walls!

Blue paint in the kitchen

I wasn't overly keen on the blue paint when it was first put on, my family keep telling me it is a teal colour and it looked it but it seems to have dried more of a blue colour which I am loving! It seems so much brighter and nicer than the lighter blue that we used to have!

Kitchen Cupboards!

Kitchen cupboards, before and after

When we moved into this house over 5 years ago we said our first DIY job would be to paint the kitchen cupboards, we have just got around to it now. It's a big job but after only getting a couple done we have realised it's so worth it! I think they look pretty amazing

Becky's birthday!
My eldest turned 22 on Tuesday. There were of course presents all of which she was really pleased with. I always say now that she's older there will be less but she still managed to have quite a few to open. Becky and I spent the afternoon at the pub and Stu and Ellie joined us later on for a meal. Becky had a fantastic day, all finished off with a visit to our local pub where we had dessert and cocktails. She is back today from a little break away with her girlfriend. They went for a city break to Newcastle. I have just realised that this is the furthest that my girl and I have been apart. It's only about 140 miles but she's never been that far without me. So far she has had a great time.

What have you loved over the last week?

  2. Good for you that you are changing up the bus and doing some walking. I am benefitting from my walking transportation even though it's nothing compared to what you are doing. I listen to a podcast even though it's not that long.
We almost went to Newcastle when we were in the UK.
Our kids are very close in age - mine were 22 on Sept. 5!
