Our weekly meal plan! 6th - 12th January! #MealPlanningMonday

Our weekly meal plan

How are we getting on in 2025? I hope you've all had a good start to the year. Ours has been a slow one, we have still been in lazy mode but that all changes today. It's back to reality and a bit of normality for us.

Last weeks meal plan went pretty well but when I got the food shop delivered on Tuesday it really messed with my head, we never get a food shop delivery on a Tuesday and I forgot to order the ingredients for the spaghetti bolognese. I had some mince in the freezer and that was it. I could have gone to the shop to get what I needed but we just made do with leftover Chinese takeaway on Thursday and we had sausages, mashed potato and baked beans on Friday. We ate everything else. Usually I'd say a meal out was the highlight of our week but it was the Chinese takeaway, it seems ages since we last had one and did feel like a great way to start a new year!

I had a Gousto box delivered over the weekend with 3 meals for this week which should get us back on track with eating better. We've not made any resolutions to diet or anything like that but I am going to try and save some money when it comes to our food and grocery shopping bills. We are not planning to eat out again until Valentine's Day, well unless you count a sneaky sausage roll from Greggs or a bacon sandwich from the cafe which we love. No sit down meals, that should save a good chunk of money. Stu and I are doing Dry January so we will save about £15 a week and we have so many cakes and treats left over from Christmas so I don't have to buy them.

On the menu this week we have:

Monday - Gousto meal - Hearty Beef, Carrot & Mustard Pie.
Tuesday - Sausage pasta and garlic bread.
Wednesday - Gousto meal - Chip Shop Fish & Chip Burger With Curry Sauce
Thursday - Gousto meal - One Tray Korean-Style Pork Belly With Gamja Jorim. I had to Google what Gamja Jorim is, it's a a Korean dish of braised potatoes in a sweet and savoury sauce.
Friday - Pizza.
Saturday - Burgers in buns with fries.
Sunday - A roast dinner of some sort.

What are you eating this week?

  1. I have always loved the idea of Chow Mein take out to go along with Turkey after the Thanksgiving feast. But so far I have not put my idea into action, maybe this year....visiting from #MMBC

  2. These meals sound delicious. We just had a roast dinner last week, and it turned out wonderfully. It was nice to enjoy it on a cold night. Enjoy your week! Visiting from MMBC :)

  3. That pie sounds delicious, I don't think I've ever had one with mustard in before. We have a stir fry on our menu this week as I'm craving lots of veg after all the Christmas food.

  4. Sausage pasta sounds so good! And I’ll bet the meal service is great. I’ve never done one. Thanks for the inspiration.

  5. Hearty Beef, Carrot & Mustard Pie sounds delicious! Is it a two-crust pie or just the top?
