This time next year! 2025!

This time last year I wrote a blog post, about the things that I wanted to achieve or do by this time next year. Well here we are, it is the next year and lets see how I did and what my goals are for 2025!

Writing in a planner

This time last year I said:

I will have a job. I am not desperate for one but I do want one.
That didn't happen, I did have an offer of one but it came at the completely wrong time in our lives. I needed to turn it down for the sake of my family. I am so lucky to be in a position where I don't have to work, Stu earns enough to give our family a good life. We might not have fancy holidays or fancy anything but we're happy with what we do have.

I will have completed some craft projects.
I don't think so unless you count me making my Dobby Lego. I still have Lego from Christmas 2023 to get around to, I had a busy year!

I will have tried a new hair colour.
I haven't gone out of my way to try a new colour but have completely by accident. I'll aim for a red and it will come out pink or aim for pink and it comes out lighter than I thought.

I will have lost weight.
Unintentionally but the weight dropped off me over the summer. It's amazing what worry and stress does to someone's body.

Had a night away with just Stu.
Yes! We went away for my birthday! It was so strange to leave the girls home alone but it was also so nice to have some time with Stu without them. It was just one nice but it was so lovely!

Ellie will have started driving lessons.
No, not yet! Other things came up which took priority but it is the top of my list of things to sort this month.

I will have grown sweetcorn. I came close last year but nothing came of it. Hmmf.
I came so close this year but it wasn't to be!

We will have decorated the kitchen!
Yes! It is something I am most proud of as well, we totally transformed out kitchen and even now a few months later it feels like a brand new kitchen!

Newly decorated kitchen

I will own an air fryer! Everyone else seems to have one.
Yes and it was one of the best things that I bought last year. I use it almost every day, even more than my oven now.

I will have printed out photos and put them in albums.
I started to and have one album done, just another 6 or so to go!

I will have made more of an effort with social media.
Yes, sort of! I have just about given up on Twitter but have fell in love with Instagram again. I did make a TikTok account and was posting on there quite a bit but ended up making it private as I lost confidence on it. I think I will just stick with blogging and not worry about the social media part of it.

I will be in a habit of going out for a walk every day!
I did so well and did for the first 6 months or so of the year and then life happened. There was a point in the summer where I didn't dare leave the house so that put a stop to that endeavour.

This time next year:

Ellie will be close to passing her driving test or might have even passed it!
I will have done some craft projects which have been on my to do list forever!
I will have had an amazing crop from my garden of fruit and vegetables.
I will not have argued with our neighbours. (It might happen. lol)
We will have gone to a music concert of some sort.
Becky will be well onto her way for saving for a house.
I will have done dry January again and lasted until about April at least.
I will be posting on TikTok again! I did enjoy it when I was last time.
We will have had a family break away and then a little break with just Stu and I.
I will have saved enough or almost enough for a new laptop.
I will have taken a selfie a day just to see myself change over a year.
I will be exercising most days!
I will have taken my girls to York Christmas market!
My Spotify wrapped will not be filled with just things that my girls listen to.

What will you have done by this time next year?

  3. Well done for the goals you've achieved last year and good luck with the goals for this year.
It's a shame about the job, but it is understandable why you didn't accept the offer. I know how it is because I was in a similar situation. The kitchen looks great. I don't have an air fryer, so you were not the last one without one of those.
