Our weekly meal plan! 8th - 14th June. #MealPlanningMonday

Last weeks meal plan was more miss than hit. The tomato risotto did not go down well. There was shouts of where's the meat and a grumble with every mouthful. A chippy lunch seems to have become a thing on a Wednesday. I had fish, chips, mushy peas and a can of pop for £5.00 which I think is a bargain. We were full until long after tea time so we just picked out of the fridge. The home made fish and chips didn't happen on Friday and we just had fish finger sandwiches. We had pizza on Saturday and yesterday we had hot dogs and Super Noodles, a proper lazy meal. lol

Some weeks the meal planning goes well and some weeks it just doesn't work out at all. Last weeks was one of those weeks. I am not taking it as a fail because there was no food waste as it was a week of eating out of the freezer and cupboards anyway.

This week on the menu we have:

Monday - Spaghetti bolognese and garlic bread.
Tuesday - A cottage type pie using the leftover bolognese.
WednesdayA picnic tea. Sausage rolls, sandwiches, crisps and cakes.
ThursdayChicken or vegetable fajitas depending on whether we have any chicken left.
FridayHome made pizza.
SaturdayNachos Supreme! Nachos with a ton of toppings.
Sunday - A roast dinner of some sort.

What are you eating this week?

  1. I see menu planning as a way of avoiding the stress of not knowing what to cook, so even if you don't stick to plan, it's still helpful ! I had a giggle at the "where's the meat?" comments - the tomato risotto sounded good to me ! I think this week will be a hit - the nachos look fab and fajitas, cottage pie, spag bol and roast dinner - you can't go wrong, can you ?! ;-)

  2. Fish finger sandwiches are my favourite! Everybody is still home so I really should meal plan more, may borrow your nachos and fajitas ideas :)

  3. Our meal planning has gone out of the window since lockdown, but I'm getting back on track slowly! Love your plan for this week. The picnic tea sounds fun. x
