The wild side of the garden. #MySundayPhoto

There is some of my garden that I haven't got around to weeding and sorting out. I am tempted to leave it as it is and see what else grows because these purple flowers are new and I didn't plant them.

Purple flowers

  1. They're a form of orchid I think. Like you I'd also be tempted to leave alone. If you have space, every garden should have a wild patch and these are a lovely colour. Aside from anything else, it attracts bees.

  4. I don't get pleasant surprises like your pretty purple flowers - just weeds! #MySundayPhoto

  5. I've quite a few of these in the garden and be careful as they can take over, but they'll die back soon, so I'd leave them for a while and you'll never be able to dig all the bulbs up from them anyway #mysundayphoto

  6. I don't know what they are, but they are so pretty. I would certainly leave them. I'm thinking of planting some wildflower seeds in my garden, just to see if they grow as nothing else seems to. x

  7. These are grape hyacinths, they grow from bulbs. They spread quite easily and I have let mine grow wherever they end up. Just cut the flowers off when they die but leave the greenery to strengthen the bulbs and they'll come back again next year :o)

  9. I love them, I'd keep them in the garden. I think they spread quite easily.

  10. I was told a couple of years ago that these are grape hyacinths. I really like them. I've got them in my garden too and I see to have more than ever this year! There are other things I'm desperate to get rid of, but they are hard to stay on top of.
