Our weekly meal plan! 12th - 18th September. #MealPlanningMonday

Our weekly meal plan

Last weeks meal plan went well, we ate everything but did swap a couple of meals around which was fine. I ended up going back to bed one morning after Ellie had gone to school and forgot to fill the slow cooker so that meal was swapped with the next day. I also cooked the pork for the roast dinner in the slow cooker and it was so good although I couldn't slice it, it just crumbled, it didn't matter, it still tasted good and probably better than when I cook it in the oven.

Last week seemed to last forever with everything that was going on. The first week back at school, a new Prime Minister, the sad news about the Queen and the new King then the weekend flew over as it was Becky's birthday. She had a fantastic day although it was nearly spoiled by our favourite takeaway place being closed as they were away on holiday. Hmmf. We ended up trying somewhere off Just Eat which Becky uses when she's at work and with the 10% off we were impressed, there was of course leftovers for lunch the next day too.

We don't have much on this week which I am glad about, I think after the excitement and drama of last week we could do with a quiet one. I might actually get caught up on the housework. hehehe

On the menu this week we have:

Monday - Chicken curry, rice and naan bread.
Tuesday - Tuna pasta bake.
WednesdaySlow cooker beef and ale casserole with cheesy dumplings and mash
Thursday - Pork and apple sausages with potato wedges.
Friday - Home made fish, chips and mushy peas.
Saturday - Pizza .
Sunday - A fry up. Sausages, bacon, eggs, hash browns, tomatoes, baked beans and toast.

What are you eating this week?

  1. Slow cooker beef and ale casserole is one of my favourites - especially after an autumn walk :o)

  2. that sounds like the type of menu that would go well in our house, apart from the tuna pasta bake, I'm the only person in the house that eats tuna and I don't eat pasta. Every thing else gets a thumbs up though. xx

  4. Kim I have a question about mushy peas. Do you cook them extra long to get them mushy? Is there any other difference between green peas and mushy peas? Thanks!

    1. I just get them out of a tin but to make home made you cook the peas as normal, drain the water then add a little butter and mash them. I don't think there is any difference between the two peas apart from one is mushed. x

  6. We end up cooking lots of roasts in the slow cooker too; and even though the food does tend to fall apart I kind of like it that way!
