In the hustle and bustle of everyday life it's easy to get caught up in the chaos and forget about the simple joys that make life truly worth living. Today is Valentine's Day, a day all about love so I thought I would do a fun post about all of the things that I love in life, all of the things that bring me endless joy and happiness!
My family!
Obviously have to say this but I do love each and every one of them. It's just a given that I love Stu or else I wouldn't be with him. He does drive me crazy some of the time but most of the time I think he is the best person ever! When it comes to my girls I live for them! I remember my girls always used to ask "which one do you love the most, me or my sister?" I used to say I loved them both equally but now I have realised that I love them both for different reasons. I couldn't imagine sitting down and talking to Ellie about TV shows (unless it's Doctor Who) and at the same time I couldn't imagine going out for a walk and just a walk with Becky (she's not an active person).
Grey's Anatomy!
I love, love, love this TV show! I have seen it all several times but it never gets boring. I think it's because there are so many episodes. (420 and it's still going). I have seen many of the characters leave and new one's arrive but it doesn't get repetitive. It covers so many important issues too. Racism, mental health, gun violence, poverty, domestic abuse, PTSD, Alzheimer's, abortion and everything in-between. I was really impressed with the Covid episodes that they did, I cried most of the way through them!
Bon Jovi!
My favourite singer/group is Bon Jovi. I don't remember when I first listened to their music but it has always been in my life but I really, really started to love them when I met a person who is an even bigger fan than me. She was the one who got me tickets to see them in concert and we used to go and see an amazing tribute band. Seeing Bon Jovi in Edinburgh was my first ever concert and then I went on to see them again in Sunderland a couple of years later. I did have the chance to see them in London a few years ago but it was a week before we moved house so the timing wasn't right. Since then I have had to do with seeing another fantastic tribute band.
Chinese Takeaway!
Chinese takeaway might be my favourite food. Not just one piece of it, the whole takeaway. I couldn't imagine just getting sweet and sour chicken balls and chips without getting pork chow mein and all the extras that we get like a mushroom omelette, beef and tomato, spring rolls, egg fried rice and prawn toast.
Blogging!
I suppose I have to love blogging. I have been blogging for over 11 years and I don't earn any money from it, I just do it for the love of it. I would say 95% of the time I really love it the only time I don't is when little hiccups happen which are mostly behind the scenes.
Baths!
I love a soak in the bath but it has to be done properly. The heating on so the bathroom is warm, bubbles and a bath bomb in my bath and it has to be as hot as I can bear it. My clean pj's have to be warming on the radiator as well as my towel and I have to have my phone so I can scroll through social media.
My slippers!
When I am in the house I always have my slippers on. I love slippers that much that I have 3 pairs. Some slip on slippers for general wear, some boot slippers for when it's colder and my outside slippers which are left near the back door for when I need to put something in the wheelie bin. My girls will walk around the house barefoot or with just socks on but I just can't bring myself to do that.
Rainy days!
As much as I complain about the rain I do love a proper rainy day at home. One of those where I don't even have to put real clothes on, I can stay in my pj's, snuggle under a blanket and just be cosy! I will always cook something nice for tea and enjoy the fact that I don't have to go out in it.
Doughnuts!
Any type will do, I am a fan of them all! They are my favourite sweet treat. My favourite of all time are the freshly made sugar one's that are still warm from being cooked. Every time I get a food shop delivered doughnuts come with it. Sometimes they might be sugar ring doughnuts, other times it could be jam, chocolate or custard filled one's. I'm not picky!
TikTok!
I am obsessed with it! I got into watching TikToks a couple of years ago without an account but then I made myself an account just so I could keep track of my favourite creators and now I make TikToks too. I only have about 18 followers and don't do anything amazing on there apart from the silly games or pick one quizzes but I enjoy it. I find out more about the world on TikTok than the news now. lol
What are the things that you love?
I have been looking for a series to binge-watch since we finished Blue Bloods. I should give Grey's Anatomy a chance but I don't want to cry LOL! I love Bon Jovi and it's on my bucket list to go and see them if they ever come over here again. I loved your list!
