The weather may not be the nicest but it is still good to get out and about for a little exercise and some fresh air. From wintery adventures in nature, outdoor trails and welly wanders, to seasonally inspired crafts, activities and games, there are lots of events and activities on offer this February half term with the National Trust.
Here’s a round up of what’s on in Lincolnshire for you this half term.
From the 10th of February.
Visit Belton Estate and discover more about their resident woodpeckers, with engaging walks, an interactive trail, and fun activities. Go on a wintery adventure exploring the parkland and enjoy learning more about Belton’s feathered friends. For a more in-depth experience, join one of our Rangers on a Woodpecker Walk, running the 12th, 13th and 14 February at 11am.
Make the most of your day out with the kids, and venture to the outdoor adventure playground set within an ancient wilderness. Swing, dangle, climb, and jump your way through before taking a train ride up to the woods and back again. Escape the cold and explore the indoor play area, where you can enjoy a refreshment or two while the kids play. Stop by the gift shop before you leave to look at the wide range of children’s activities inspired by nature.

Inspire future scientists with a trip to Isaac Newton’s childhood home, and enjoy a trail based on the electromagnetic spectrum. Step inside the Manor House and celebrate the 320th anniversary of Isaac Newton publishing his works on Optiks! There will be a new exhibition in the hayloft exploring the influence of Newton’s work in art and poetry. Book on to a family tour running during February half term and enjoy an interactive tour taking you through young Isaac’s life on the farm. In the science centre, children of all ages, even grown up ones can get hands on with some of Isaac’s most famous experiments.
Normal admission charges apply. Pre booking is required for entry to the Manor House but is not required for the Science Centre, orchard or coffee shop.
14th to the 25th of February.
Come along and have fun exploring the gardens and experience a range of activities on the Kitty Cat Trail. Solve the clues to find the Gunby cats favourite locations throughout the gardens.
The trail is available during normal opening hours from Saturday the 10th of February to Sunday the 18th of February. Make more of your day out with the kids and walk to the ice house pond where you may just discover some fairy houses nestled around the edge.

14th to the 25th of February.
Test your puzzle skills with Archer’s Riddles Trail at the castle this half term. Explore the grounds, solve the clues and find out more about the animals that call our castle home. Those who conquer the trail will receive a prize for their ingenious efforts. The trail will run alongside normal opening hours of: 11am until 3pm Wednesday through to Sunday with last entry at 14:00.
