We have been trying out a Mini Backpack from Goodordering...

The kids have gone back to school and before they did I thought it was a good idea to buy Ellie a big school bag....It is fantastic for P.E days but for the rest of the days it is a bit too big and is unneeded....She needed something a bit smaller and luckily someone from Goodordering got in touch asking if we would like to review one of their bags....

Goodordering is a small independent company run out of a flat on top of a bike shop in Hackney, East London. They design highly functional bags that you can carry on or off a bike...Each bag has been designed with technological gadgets and gizmos in mind, with padded compartments and pockets of varying shapes and sizes. At the same time there is no compromise in quality, the bags are water resistant, hard-wearing and versatile.

We were sent a mini backpack to try in the colour Forest Green....We loved the colour. It makes such a lovely change for Ellie to have a bag this colour. It has only been the last few months that she has drifted away for wanting everything pink. This is a lot more of a grown up bag for her but at the same time it is perfect of someone of her age....

This Mini-me backpack is packed with functional features that make life easier travelling with only the essentials.

The bag features reflective strips for extra safety on all 3 panels (front and both sides) detachable safety harness and chest strap. The bag also features a unique strap construction which allows it to be attached to scooter or bike handles.

Dimensions: 30cm x 20cm x 10cm
Weight: 0.38kg
Capacity: 4.5L

My girls walk home from school and in a couple of months it will be just about dark when they get in. I love that this backpack features reflective strips. They are a great safety feature and when Ellie has it on her back she will be easier to see....

I think this is a fantastic sized bag for what we need it for.....It is big enough to fit her planner, pencil case, a snack and her water bottle in.....There is pouches at on the sides which are perfect for bottles but Ellie's unicorn bottle is a little too big which is a shame.....

There is a chance that some days when Ellie is settled into school she will be going on her scooter and this bag is fantastic for that too....She can either wear it on her back. There is a strap which goes around her waist to secure the bag and stop it flapping about but there is also the option to attach it to her scooter which looks very easy to do.....

Goodordering's bags are mostly waterproof. The zips are normal fabric so they are not. There will come a point when it's chucking it down when Ellie is walking home from school so this will be handy....

The mini backpack costs £35. I would say this is worth it. It looks like it is made to last and the fact that it can attach to a scooter is a bonus.

Goodordering has a huge range of bags for all your needs....I was impressed with how many! The range of bags include cycling bags for panniers and handlebars, baby buggy nappy bags, school bags (in ‘mini’ and full-size) and everyday work bags. One of the key benefits of the range is the bags’ multi-functional design for seamless lifestyle transition; allowing a cycle pannier bag to convert to a handy shopper, a handlebar bag to a messenger, and a backpack to a family picnic hamper all using the extra strap which is supplied.....

Ellie is very happy with her new bag and I am too....Next year when it comes to buying school bags I will keep Goodordering in mind....

We were sent this bag free of charge in exchange for this blog post.

  1. What a smart bag - and such a great size! I always remember my Grandad being terribly worried about the amount of stuff we carted around in our school bags and what damage we would do to our backs. A smaller back sorts that right out!

  2. Olivia would love this! She loves bags and especially ones with different pockets etc. She has gone for a huge backpack this year. Much bigger than last years but refuses to size down! #triedtested
