(Ad - Gifted) A couple of great games for Christmas from Interplay UK!

Every year in the run up to Christmas I buy a couple of new games to play and enjoy over the festive season. This year is no different and luckily I have been sent a couple to have a look at from Interplay UK

2 Board games from Interplay Silly Sounds and 5 Second Rule Spintensity

My girls are 18 and 13 years old now so playing board games with them is so much more fun than they used to be. There is no just letting them win so they don't get bored. With some games the girls are better than Stu and I and give us quite the challenge.

Silly Sounds is the new family fun party game where everyone gets to make and guess the silly sound stuck on your headband! Making silly sounds is only half the fun, guessing them is the other half! Silly Sounds, the game you play with your ears!

Included in the box is:

12 x Blank Cards
1 x Spinner
1 x Timer
1 x Rules

Silly Sounds game pieces

This was a game I had not heard of before but it did sound like a lot of silly fun which is perfect for over Christmas.

To play the guesser wear a headband with a card on that others can see but they can’t. Fellow players can only make “silly sounds” to hint at what’s on your head for you to guess. Get it right and you keep the card, get it wrong and play passes to the next player.

For 2 to 4 players this game is suitable for ages 8 years and above and is not suitable for children under 36 months due to small parts that may represent a choking hazard.

Silly sounds is available to buy from: Smyths Toys, Amazon and other toy retailers for around £12.99.

An all-new, spinfully intense electronic version of 5 Second Rule! You’re racing to name 3 things in 5 seconds and press the timer to see what the spinner wants you to do next: name 3 more, 2 more, draw a new card or move on to the next player or will the timer turn red and sound you out!

5 Second Rule Spintensity

We love the original 5 Second Rule game and this one adds a little something else. This electronic version is even more frantic and fun and you can also combine this with the original and Junior game for even more fun.

Included in the box is:

An Electronic unit
Start and finish markers
200 x question cards (400 questions)

I think the girls are going to be good at this game. There is the normal type of cards. Name 5 types of yoghurt, dog, city and so on but then I think there is some Stu and I will struggle with, things like Snapchat filters and YouTube Stars. Eek! This is not just a game for kids, I think it would be great for adults too!

5 Second Rule Spintensity is recommended for ages 12 year and above and is not suitable for children under 36 months due to small parts that may represent a choking hazard.

It is available to buy from: John Lewis, Argos, Very, Amazon UK and other toy retailers for around £19.99.

I think when lockdown is over and we're all back to our normalish lives these will be games the kids will play with their friends too! They are a lot of fun!

We were sent these two games free of charge in exchange for this blog post.

  1. ooh I like the sound of Spintensity, I'm not sure I'd be very good, but I guess a bit of intense thinking is good for keeping the brain cells working :) I'm not so sure about the Silly Sounds one, we have a couple of family members who are sensitive to noises so these sort of games don't go down well in our house. We had to stop playing 'Shhh! Don't Wake Dad' because of the snoring noise. x

  4. They do look fun. We've been playing the original 5 second rule game this afternoon. Never fails to have us roaring with laughter. I can imagine that Silly Sounds would have quite an appeal!#mmbc
