It has been so cold! #MySundayPhoto

It has been so chilly this past week and I am stingy when it comes to having the heating on during the day. It's official, I am turning into my dad. lol I will fill a hot water bottle and have a blanket on me and usually I am fine but midweek the cold was just too much so I put the fire on in the living room. I didn't see the point of putting the central heating on, heating the whole house when it was only Becky and me in the house and she was in the living room with me, she was warm by the way. After 10 minutes I was warm and toasty and Becky was begging to switch the fire off as she felt like she was melting. lol

A gas fire

Taking this photo has reminded me that I need to ring the man who came and did the gas safety check he noticed one of the white grid things on the fire is the wrong type. (the first one on the left.) We didn't notice it until he mentioned it, it's a different pattern to the others. He said he was going to replace it but hasn't been back. Before he left he did say it doesn't effect how the fire works it's just cosmetic so there is no risk to us.

  1. Glad you were warm Kim...but do get that fire safety guy back! Don't want you and the family getting poisoned!

  2. Haha I’m the same as you during the day and put extra layers on, only putting the fire on when Lucas is back from school #sundaysnapshot

  5. It's been cold (for Florida) in the last week and I have a little heater blazing away here in my bedroom.

  6. I've been so warm lately! Being pregnant made me so hot all the time and now the baby is like having a hot water bottle! Ha.

  7. We have a much shorter winter than you but, when it is cold, I find it hard to get warm. I also love a nice hot water bottle and blanket :) #MMBC

  8. I miss having a gas fire, I miss having a fire place. I did consider getting an electric fire when we moved in but with the central heating it didn't seem worth it. In my old house we lived for years with just a gas fire, we had the central heating fitted just before Star was born. I think you only have to worry if you start getting residue on your grids but it's best that they are all well fitted. x

  9. I usually need a small portable heater even when the central heat is on. Love the colours and the perspective in your photo.

  11. I'm the same as you - I won't put the heating on in the day, even though I do get very cold. Now it's the Christmas holidays and even my husband will be at home, no doubt we will have it on! That is weird about the different panel in the fire. I'm very glad it's not unsafe!
