Last weeks meal plan went really well considering that Ellie was home every day as her school closed because there were too many cases of Covid. There were a couple of evenings where I didn't fancy cooking but I am glad I did. The Chinese fakeaway was a huge hit. It was all ready made from Iceland. The battered chicken balls were so good, just like the one's from the Chinese takeaway. We did get a takeaway on Saturday night but stuck to the meal plan as it was pizza and there was leftovers for lunch yesterday.
Ellie is back to school tomorrow. They're back to wearing masks when they are moving between lessons and they will be having lateral flow tests at school. I think it's such a good idea. After today there is only 9 more school days until the summer holidays and they can't come soon enough. I can't wait until we can stay away from people.
On the menu this week we have:
Monday - Creamy tuna pasta bake.
Tuesday - Hot dogs in buns with fried onions and corn on the cob.
Wednesday - Slow cooked chicken crown with sage & onion gravy. It's a ready made thing that I just have to whack in the oven. We'll have it with mash & veg.
Thursday - Fish fingers, chips and baked beans.
Friday - Pizza.
Saturday - Spaghetti bolognese and garlic bread.
Sunday - Leftover bolognese in wraps.
What are you eating this week?
That chicken crown looks pretty good for a ready made one!
ReplyDeleteHope you're all keeping well and have a lovely Summer x Thanks for linking up!
Yay, the holidays are nearly here ! We're off already and I'm enjoying just chilling out, not worrying about school/work or the daily bus trips. Love the sound of your meals and I looked up the tuna pasta bake - looks lovely and the website looks fab so I'll be delving around on there to see what else looks good :)
ReplyDeleteIt's sad that COVID is still causing so much trouble. Take care and enjoy your Monday! #MMBC
ReplyDeleteI've never thought of putting leftover bolognese in wraps, we have ours over jacket potatoes. I haven't done a meal plan in ages, we are having some real food issues at home at the moment and I need some big inspiration. If only we could bbq every day. x
ReplyDeleteTonight we're having lasagna and salad since I had a lasagna I had made previously sitting in the freezer and it's both quick and easy. I have got to get to the store today though; preferably by lunchtime so we all have something to eat!
ReplyDeleteOoh the chicken crown sounds very yummy. We've just got this week left and then Sophie's on holiday and I'm just keeping everything crossed that no bubbles burst this week. Hope that Ellie's return to school goes well. #MMBC
