Our weekly meal plan! 9th - 15th January. #MealPlanningMonday

Our weekly meal plan

Last weeks meal plan didn't end up going too badly in the end. I had planned to spend a couple of days decorating the bathroom but it took way longer than I expected. By the time I had thought about what we were having for tea on Wednesday it was too late to cook the roast dinner and then the next day the pie obviously wasn't made with the leftovers as there weren't any. We ended up having home made pizza on Saturday night but I redeemed myself and cooked the missed roast dinner on Sunday. We had chicken, roast potatoes and parsnips, carrots, peas, broccoli and Yorkshire puddings.

This week was supposed to be all about getting back to normal but Stu is working today and having Friday off. They've had a shuffle around at work and there's new managers, teams and seating plans so he is going in on his usual day off to settle into the new team. It will be nice having him home on a Friday though, Friday's are always a fun day.

I don't have any big plans for the week apart from sorting out the kitchen cupboards. The one's with the jars and sauces in is out of control with things almost falling out every time that I open it and the cupboard for random things has far too many random things in.

On the menu this week we have:

Monday - Leftover roast dinner pie with mash.
Tuesday - Jacket potatoes with baked beans and cheese.
WednesdayPork and apple sausages with potato wedges.
Thursday - Vegan red Thai curry with rice. I am not going to tell my family it's vegan, they have such an aversion to vegan food but will eat it and enjoy it if they don't know. hehehe
Friday - Fish, chips and mushy peas.
Saturday - Fried chicken, onion rings, fries, coleslaw and baked beans.
Sunday - We might go out for a Sunday dinner.

What are you eating this week?

  1. This sounds a great menu over the week. Good to see that you have started Monday with a leftover recipe. I did the same as I have some leftover food from the weekend... Have a great week!

  2. Your meal plan sounds very yummy. It’s both good and a bit strange planning and eating normal meals after all that party food and left overs. It’s great that you’ll have Stu home on Friday. My husband had to work on his day off last week and he never got another day off to make up for it. Thankfully he has spoken to his boss and from now on he’ll have Tuesdays and Wednesdays off.

  3. Sounds a good week. Hope they enjoy the curry and thanks for linking to me. I am still undecided about food for this week. Nearly just used someone else's meal plan that they had dropped in the shop. Well done getting your spice rack up.

  4. I'm coming to yours for dinners this week! Hehe.
I love jackets even if I do drown them in cheese!
Fish and chips is another favourite here but Jayden and I don't like mushy peas, ewww! xx

  5. Well, we ended up going out to dinner rather unexpectedly last night as the pot roast I had going in the crock pot all day yesterday was still not cooked through by dinnertime! We're having that tonight instead (and I just checked that it is all cooked today).... we've never had that happen before. The only thing I can think of is that the roast was too big for the pot?

  6. I'm on holiday in a week and I need to get my house under control, which always involves having a clear out in the cupboards to see what's lurking ! Your comment about vegan food made me giggle - sounds familiar !
