Our weekly meal plan! 15th - 21st January. #MealPlanningMonday

Our weekly meal plan

Last weeks meal plan went great until we got an air fryer. lol On Thursday when we got it we of course had to try it out as soon as possible. I had Scampi and chips cooked in it and the Scampi was amazing, so much better than being cooked in the oven. Stu had battered chicken breast and curly fries, we learned they don't take as long as normal chips to cook, they were a little too crispy, Becky just had chicken nuggets as she had just woke up from sleeping and needed to try it out and Ellie had breaded chicken goujons and fries which she said were the best she's ever eaten. I am very impressed. We still ate the Gousto meals but a couple were a day later than I had originally planned.

Have you seen the weather forecast? It's set to be cold here this week. Eek! Today is set to be 1 degrees here so I am thinking we're going to have a week of warming, filling meals. We're giving Gousto a miss for the next couple of weeks as there wasn't enough meals to fill a box that we fancied. After so many weeks of using Gousto it feels really strange coming up with our own meals for the week.

On the menu this week we have:

Monday - We're stating the week off with one of our favourite winter warmers, Toad in the hole, mashed potato, carrots,  sweetcorn and lots of gravy. Stu has asked me to make extra so he can take some to work the next day.
Tuesday - Carrot & coriander soup with chutney twists. We have had this quite a few times and it's out favourite soup. We first got the recipe from a Gousto box, it is so easy to make and is perfect for chilly day's.
Wednesday - Lasagne and garlic bread.
Thursday - Bacon, mushrooms, Heinz tomato ketchup filled hash browns and fried eggs.
Friday - Fish, chips and mushy peas.
Saturday - Burgers in buns with corn on the cob!
Sunday - Out for a roast dinner!

What are you eating this week?

  1. Oh gosh! Toad in the Hole. Not had that in years. I wonder if it tastes as good with veggie sausages.

  2. It's cold here too so I will probably make vegetable soup - leek and potato is my favourite. After reading your menu I may make toad in the hole again too, we haven't had it for ages!
