When we were planning to move and we discussed with the kids where, they were so excited when Scunthorpe was mentioned. Looking on Google maps there is of course Scunthorpe, Hull is about an hour away, Doncaster and Leeds are a couple of hours away. These journeys may seem like a bit far to some but we are used to travelling by bus for days out. We used to live in a town but it was still an hour just to Newcastle.
We are settled here now, all the unpacking is done and there is still decorating to do but that can take a back seat while the kids are off school for their summer holidays. We have a ton of new places to visit and the girls have created quite a list. Eek!
The Deep - Hull.
The Deep is one of the most spectacular aquariums in the world and is home to 5,000 animals including magnificent sharks and rays! The aquarium uses a combination of hands-on interactive displays, audiovisual presentations, and living exhibits to tell the story of the world's oceans. Your visit will take you from exotic tropical lagoons, to the British shores, to the chilly Kingdom of Ice - home of the resident Gentoo penguins. I recently read about The Deep on Here Comes The Hoopers and it has made me even more determined to visit.

North Lincolnshire Museum - Scunthorpe.

Normanby Hall Country Park
Normanby Hall Country Park, an idyllic estate set in the heart of North Lincolnshire. Open to the public every day of the year, the park offers the perfect backdrop to your day out. With the region's first Go Ape as well as the Hall and Farming Museum, enjoy the historical woodland and take a leisurely stroll around the award-winning gardens. Whether you want a treetop adventure or a relaxing day out in a glorious setting, there is plenty to enjoy for all the family.
Humber Bridge Country Park
The Country Park is a 48 acre wood with open meadows and wildlife ponds. There are nature trails, sculptural seats, tree trails, orienteering courses and a bird feeding station. Some of the meadows are mown for games and picnics, others are just cut once a year so as to encourage wild flowers and butterflies.
The park is accessible to people with disabilities, including wheelchair users. Park and enter at the step-free Hessle Foreshore entrance which is of course very handy for pushchairs too!

Dont forget Lincoln , the cathedral and castle you pay for but the Lincolnshire life museum and the collection are free . Im sure if your a resident theres a locals cheap pass for Normanby Hall . Barton has lots of weird and wonderful exhibitions at the ropewalk another freebie .

There were elements that reminded us of our Florida holidays, as to the attention to detail. My top tip would be to get the lift to the start of the attraction! The signs heavily point towards the stairs, which we followed then walked up about 8 flights!

How exciting! Lots of fun places to see and things to do. The Deep looks amazing. My two love the aquariums, we went to a big one in Anglesey and they really enjoyed it!
