Last weeks meal plan went well although Ellie and I did end up having something from the chip shop after her college interview (which went really well) on Thursday. Stu missed the bus and didn't get in until coming on for 10pm so he just had a snack and had to go to bed. Ugh! The highlight of the week were the Chicken Kiev's, the kids were so excited about them after not having them in ages. We tried the Aunt Bessie's Bacon topped chicken crown from Iceland and it was just OK. What put me off was the big bone in the middle, I actually thought it was still frozen in the middle when I went to carve it as I wasn't expecting the bone. It tasted OK but it was nothing amazing.
We don't have much on this week, Ellie and I had a long weekend due to the school being closed on Friday because of the snow. She thought she'd got out of another mock exam but we got a text saying it has been moved to this afternoon. I keep saying it but this week the builders are coming to finish the work they started a few weeks ago, they were supposed to come on Friday but the snow seems to have stopped everything, I was quite glad actually. I didn't fancy them coming in and out, letting the cold in.
On the menu this week we have:
Monday - Kung Pao chicken with egg fried rice. The sauce is just coming out of a jar.
Tuesday - Corned beef hash & baked beans.
Wednesday - Spiced black pudding scotch eggs and chips. I saw the meal on Gousto and have found the recipe. I can't find black pudding sausages to will be mixing sausage meat and black pudding which sounds like the same thing.
Thursday - Fish finger tacos.
Friday - Turkey burgers, chips and baked beans.
Saturday - Pizza.
Sunday - It's Mother's day so I am treating myself to an Indian takeaway.

Glad the interview went well. I love corned beef hash but corned beef is so expensive these days. Hope you have a lovely Mother's Day x
