Our weekly meal plan! 14th - 20th of August. #MealPlanningMonday

Our weekly meal plan

Last weeks meal plan went well. Buying the two chickens and using them for three meals worked out really well, there was even some spare for sandwiches for lunch. It was so nice to have a home made roast dinner but it was so much effort, I much prefer going out for a Sunday dinner and letting someone else do the cooking and washing the dishes.

This week is the start of a fun few weeks for us. It's Stu's birthday on Wednesday and we had planned on having a Chinese takeaway but the people who run it are away on holiday so it's either going to be pizza or and Indian takeaway. We don't have much choice here midweek as the local pubs only serve food on a Thursday, Friday and weekend. Hmmf.

I felt so chuffed with myself as our weekly shop only came to £70 something pounds and that included a bottle of wine, some lager, washing powder, loo rolls as well as the usual things like bread, milk and fruit. I didn't buy much food as we are planning to have a week eating out of the freezer as they seem so full with lots of random things.

On the menu this week we have:

Monday - Hot dogs in buns with fries and onion rings.
Tuesday - Salmon, Broccoli & Pea Risotto, the meals in a bag from Iceland.
Wednesday - Takeaway for Stu's birthday.
ThursdaySome sort of chicken with Crispy Potatoes with Mediterranean Style Vegetables from Iceland which includes: fried diced potatoes with red onion, grilled red and yellow peppers and grilled courgettes in a savoury seasoning. .
Friday - Hamwiches, chips and spaghetti hoops.
Saturday - Bolognese in wraps. I have a few tubs of leftover bolognese mix in the freezer.
Sunday - Pie, mash and veg.

What are you eating this week?

  1. All sounds lovely. The Iceland options sound great so I hope they're as good as expected. Happy birthday to Stu !

  2. Oh well done on the food shop. Things are so expensive now!
I'm using up some of the freezer stuff this week too. There is quite a bit to get through.
I hope Stu has a fab day and enjoys his takeaway. xx

  3. I just revamped my menu this morning; we had a cookout last night and I have SO many leftovers that we're using them to make a few different things. Tonight we'll have a beef brisket stir fry, then Tuesday we're planning on chicken fajitas, and Wednesday we'll use up the burgers/hot dogs and side salads (if we have any left by then!).
