This months prompt is: What's in my handbag! I have only started using a handbag properly over the last few years. I used to only use one when I was doing the school run in the summer to carry my keys, phone, a couple of tissues and maybe a little money for an ice cream on the way home. In the winter I would just use the pockets of my coat.
I'd say over the last few years I have been using a handbag more, in the winter and the summer. It is an oversized one that I was sent to review a couple of years ago. It has been used a lot, the girls used it the odd time for school and college but I have well and truly claimed it now.
It is a good sized bag and there is more than enough room for everything that I carry around with room enough for me to rummage around and find everything. I also have room for small things that I buy when I am out.
So this is what is in my bag!
An umbrella and sunglasses.
I think this just about sums up the weather we've had lately. Sunny one minute and raining the next. Not just summer showers, it felt more like Autumn last week. The umbrella I got years ago from a Secret Santa thing with friends and the sunglasses came from the pound shop, probably the cheapest one's you can get but this is the 2nd year of me using them.
A sanitary pad and flushable wipes.
Beauty bits.
Some beauty bits. A little hairbrush, Lynx deodorant which the girls got loads of for Christmas and are still using it up so I pinched a can, lipstick and lip gloss and some moisturising cream. I got this little tub in a gift set and I keep refilling it from a bigger tub that I have. The little one is just the right size for my bag.
Juice carton and snacks.
I always like to take a juice box in my bag when I go out. Any will do, orange, apple or even pineapple juice. I hate being somewhere and not having something to drink. I also have to have some sort of snack with me, I am a horrible person if I am hungry and brunch or cereal bars and good to have.
Electronic bits.
I always have a wire to charge my phone and usually a plug for it to plug into, I don't know where that's gone but I am betting one of my girls has borrowed it. My wireless earbuds. They are not a fancy set, I got them off Amazon for under £10 and they have lasted me over a couple of years. I got Becky some too and she loves them. They are so comfortable to wear and keep the charge really well. I also have to have a pen, you never know when you will need one.
As well as all of this I will have keys, my phone with my bank card in, probably some loose change and maybe £20 in notes. I know most places accept card payments now a days but I still like to carry a bit of cash. I will always have tissues and probably a couple of hair ties.
So that's it. What do you have in your handbag?
We have had a very rainy summer too and it has definitely been feeling like fall off and on for a few weeks now (it's pouring outside as I type this!). I keep an umbrella in the door of my car and I have been using it so much this summer it hardly has time to try in between uses! Those flushable wipes are a great idea.
ReplyDeleteI used to hate carrying around a big packet of wet wipes too when my kids were little. One time I forgot when my oldest son was a toddler and that was the day he was sick everywhere! I love how you carry all your essentials in your bag and what a great idea to carry snacks. I get shaky or cranky or both when I’m hungry.
ReplyDeleteSorry if this comment comes through twice. I wrote it again because I wasn’t sure if the first one went through
Kim, I like your tote bag and everything that you carry in it. I used to carry a large tote bag but it was starting to hurt my shoulder so I switched to a crossbody bag.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the blog visit and I hope you enjoy the rest of the week.
Don't use one here. I have several tore bags which are either from Primark or bought in random places. Not 100% sure am girly enough for one
ReplyDeleteUmbrella?! I am impressed. I never carry an umbrella with me. When it might rain I have a big scarf that I put over my hair. It works nicely.
ReplyDeleteWhat a good idea to carry snacks. I used to be very careful to always have a granola bar or a small package of trail mix but I've gotten away from it. It would be so handy to be able to fit an umbrella in your bag! I bought myself a mini umbrella and keep it in the car - but then it usually starts raining when I have to go TO the car so it doesn't help. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI always forget my brolly. 😂 Been caught in the rain luckily for me I am always hot so doesent really bother me to much. Im the same have to have a drink
