Our weekly meal plan! 23rd - 29th March. #MealPlanningMonday

I have stressed so much over the past week about our food shopping. I haven't been panic buying, clearing the shelves in shops but did manage to get a delivery slot for Friday. I did buy a few things extra for the cupboard and freezer because the next deliver slot is the 15th of April and I can't use my dad to take me shopping in town as he's self isolating!

Tesco did well. Obviously there was a lot of substitutions but they were all sensible and about 10 things unavailable but nothing we really needed, it was mostly freezer food. What did make me chuckle was that I ordered 10 bananas, apples and oranges before they put the 3 limit thing on and forgot about them then I was sent 3 of each. lol I thought it was funny and it's not the end of the world because out local shops are pretty well stocked.

Meal planning has become so important now, planning what we're going to eat with what we have in. I'm planning on doing no more food shopping apart from bread, milk & fruit until next month and at the moment have 3 weeks of meals planned.

This week on the menu we have:

Monday - Slow cooker beef stew.
Tuesday - Sandwiches and snacky things.
WednesdayAmerican Bbq Sausages & potato wedges..
Friday - Pizza.
Saturday - A home made curry of some sort.
Sunday - A roast dinner of some sort.

What are you eating this week?

  2. I'm the same and, not sure if you remember, we haven't got a freezer any more, after it got mouldy/smelly when the power went off during our summer holiday. Nightmare ! But we'll get there ! It's been fun this last week, clearing out things that have been in the cupboards for ages, but looking forward, things might get a bit tricky :-/ Ah well, a week at a time - looking good this week. Those sausages look good :)

    1. Oh yes, I do remember the freezer situation. Eek! At least now it's a good excuse to get the cupboards emptied. x

  3. You are so lucky that you have well stocked local stores and food deliver still available. We've never had food delivery living out here but the last few trips to the store have left me feeling dejected. Our stores have not put limits on much of anything and they just keep getting wiped right out.

  4. Inspiration as ever - you were the first to get me doing meal planning rather than just talking about it. Funny at the moment as with my brother at his house so sort of joining in with his meal planning and hence getting a lot of new meals - slow cooker is great for starters! #MMBC

  5. I was going to try and get a food delivery but there aren't any slots, luckily we did a fairly big shop the other week but like you will need to stock up on essentials like milk, bread etc especially now we are at home more. Your meal plan sounds great especially the American BBQ sausages and wedges.x
