Our weekly meal plan! 20th - 26th July. #MealPlanningMonday

Last weeks meal plan went really well. I had fun in the kitchen. Ellie and I did some baking and I made some pease pudding following a recipe from Dragons and Fairydust. It's a North East thing and I have really missed it since we moved house. I practically lived off Ham & pease pudding sandwiches for lunch last week. lol

I hadn't planned on getting a food shop delivered this week but I realised we were out of all the normal things like bread, milk, ham, eggs, potatoes, etc, etc and I could have gone to our little Tesco express but I've realised they never have the cheap own brands in and the big cartons of milk. I really hate paying £1 for a loaf of bread when I know I can get a own brand for 59p when I get it delivered from the big Tesco. I know it's only pennies but they do add up. I worked it out. I spent £59 on a shop delivered but with the top brands it would have cost over £80.

This week on the menu we have:

Monday - Hot dogs and fries.
TuesdayTuna & sweetcorn cakes & salad.
Thursday - Bolognese (out of the freezer) in tacos.
Friday - Pizza.
Sunday - A roast dinner of some sort.

What are you eating this week?

  1. The mango curry sounds really good. #MMBC

  2. The pennies certainly do add up, my Mum used to go from supermarket to supermarket to get the best prices on things, that was in the days when you would have several supermarkets on one high street. I like the look of that prawn and mango curry, I'd really enjoy that, but my daughter is allergic to mango and Graham is allergic to seafood and fish, so I'll have to come to yours for dinner :) x

  3. How delishous to have home made pease pudding, love the stuff x #mmbc

  4. I definitely believe that those little expenses here and there add up. Sounds like a tasty week. I don't have our whole week planned out yet as I won't be grocery shopping until Wednesday but for dinner tonight we're having stuffed squash, and I'm hoping to make a zucchini lasagna for dinner tomorrow.

  5. Yummy, sounds like a great meal plan Kim. I am craving hot dogs now!!

  6. Ooh tacos with bolognese sounds great and you're right the money really does add up!

  7. I have noticed our food bill slowly rising. That prawn and mango curry sounds lovely. Will be using that one x
