A Harry Potter tag.

I love Harry Potter and anything to do with the films and books. I came across the The Ultimate Harry Potter tag ages ago and had it saved to do sometime and thought now was a good time to do it with the latest Fantastic Beasts film coming out.

I was late getting into Harry Potter. I had several of the books and never bothered reading them until I had watched a few of the films then read the last two books before reading the first five.

Which was your favourite book?
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. It was the first book that I read of all the Harry potter books after watching the films. It was then I realised that the books had so much more to them than the films. I only read it because I needed to know what happened next after the Order of the Phoenix film.

Least favourite book?
The Philosopher's Stone and that is only because it was the first book and the characters changed so much throughout the series.

Which was your favourite movie?
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. All the characters seemed to grow up a lot and there was of course the Triwizard Tournament. It is where the films started to get darker and everything just goes up a gear.

Least favourite movie?
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I find it a bit blah after the Goblet of Fire and hate Delores Umbridge. There was so much missed from the book too.

Your favourite quote?
There are so many amazing quotes, the most famous from Dumbledore: Happiness can be found even in the darkest times if one only remembers to turn on the light” but I think my favourite is: "If you want to know what a man’s like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals" from Sirius Black.

Favorite Weasley?
Molly Weasley! Molly was also someone her children could look up to and always made sure that everyone felt loved, including Harry.

Favorite female character?
Luna Lovegood! She is quirky, unique, doesn't care what other's think and she is such a nice person.

Favorite male character?
Severus Snape. His whole story throughout the series is the best and most surprising. He did great things and he did bad things but has the most depth of all characters in the story.

Favorite villain?
Voldemort of course!

Which house have you been sorted into on Pottermore or another sorting quiz?
Slytherin. Eek!

What is your Patronus?
A Jack Russell Terrier. lol

Parts of the books/movies that made you cry?
Dobby dying, I sob every time! Hermione erasing her parents memories, Snape, Cedric, Dumbledore and Sirius dying and of course Hedwig!

If you could own one of the three Hallows, which would it be?
The Invisibility Cloak. I think I could have the most fun with that and it is the one which would cause the least trouble.

Are you a Harry Potter fan?

  1. Oh this is so fun! I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan. I started reading the series when I was student teaching/ substitute teaching. A few of the teachers were reading aloud the first book to their classes and once I had read a few chapters aloud myself I really had to know how the book ended. I remember waiting anxiously for each new book to be released! Then when the movies were released I went back and read through each of the books again. I've now read them 3 times with my boys. I think my favorite book is Chamber of Secrets. I also really like the Goblet of Fire and we all detest "Miss Pink" as my younger two refer to Umbridge. I typically get sorted into Ravenclaw and I tear up every time Dobby dies and still get so angry that Hedwig and Sirius did too.

  2. Now I seriously need to get into reading Harry Potter. I guess I've lived under a rock for the past 25 years but I haven't read any of the books nor seen any of the movies. From what I've heard, Snape does sound like quite a complex character indeed.
