What I have been loving lately!

It has been a long while since I wrote one of these blog posts, writing about what I have been loving and my favourite things at the moment. I thought it was about time I let you know what I have been loving lately.

Heart drawn with crayon

Getting jobs done around the house.
We have got so many jobs done around the house over the last few months. The biggest was getting insulated plasterboard on the living room wall, it has done it's job and made it so much warmer in here. We've had a shower put in, got my youngest girls bedroom decorated, the garage decluttered and tidied, the garden has been weeded and tidied, bricks around out bedroom windows have been cemented into place as they were coming loose, we borrowed a carpet cleaner and cleaned all the carpets in the house and at the moment I am debating about painting the kitchen cupboards.

GCSE preparation.
My youngest is making me so proud. Her end of school exams are coming up next month and she has been revising hard. She has been working on her weakest subject, geography instead of just writing it off and giving up. She wants to get as many passes as she can.

Shopping locally.

Cakes and jars of chutneys.

During the lockdowns a few years ago I took advantage of the local farm shop, bakers and butchers but then when I could get delivery slots again from the supermarket I stopped using them. Over the last few months I have been venturing out and using these little local shops. The butchers is a little more expensive but the meat is better and their cakes are to die for. Our farm shop is just fantastic. When I couldn't get peppers and tomatoes in the supermarkets they had them. They have a great selection of plants and flowers as well as all the fruit and veg that I can think of, the jars or jam, pickles and chutneys are pretty amazing too.

Grey's Anatomy.

I have been rewatching it again. It's freaky how much I forgot about. Obviously I remember the big things like George but I forgot about his dad and the plane crash but I forgot about the following episodes. Callie and Cristina will always be my favourites and I am still not a fan of Owen but I don't hate him as much as I did. I still have a few episodes to watch for the first time when I have finished rewatching which I am very excited about.

Spring!

Daffodils

We are having more warmer days than cold here and I couldn't be happier. I hate the cold but I also hate the heat of summer so this type of weather is perfect for me. Warm enough to go out with a light jacket and some days just a t-shirt but cool enough so I'm not sweating. I have things planted in my garden and everything is started to grow.

The Sims 4.

I got a couple of new expansion packs for the The Sims 4 which has ignited my passion for playing again. I have also realised that you can have roommates which live in your house but you don't have to care for them, they pay rent so it's a good way to make money. I've played it in the past using the money cheat so now I like to play without cheating.

What have you been loving lately?

I am linking up with Andrea and Erika for their Friday Favorites.

  1. It seems like you had great experiences in different tasks. I like to shop at nearby market and local shops compared to supermarkets. It is interesting to talk with sellers and enjoy the view of fresh produce.

  2. It's great that you have got so much done in the house. My plans are a lick of paint for my kitchen and downstairs bathroom and a good clear out of the girls and little man's bedroom. We did do our bedroom this week. Ellie is amazing for working so hard, I can't get Boo to take these exams seriously and when I try she just gets super stressed out. I'm sure it will all work out in the end (fingers crossed) I love our local farm shop and I have started playing Sims 4 again too. It is so much easier to make money these days you really don't need the 'motherlode' cheat ;) xx

  3. Wow you have been busy around the house! I bet the insulation has made such a difference. I've been painting, but once you start one room, it makes the others look drab doesn't it?! So I've made even more work for myself and doing all through again.
Good luck to Ellie on her exams, she will smash them!
Oh, I was just saying to Jayden the other day that I'm going to start playing Sims 4 again. He wants it on his PC too.
The motherlode cheat is ace hehe, I might go and check out some expansion packs now! xx

  4. It's so great that you have gotten so many things done around the house. It's funny how once you start one project then it can lead onto the next one and the next...The produce from your local shops looks and sounds really delicious. All the best as Ellie prepares for her exams, good on her for tackling her hardest subject! I have never watched a single episode of Grey's Anatomy but I should give it a go once I finish 9-1-1. I used to play the Sims FreePlay on my iPad and then I stopped. I am downloading it again as I type this and I'm going to start playing again. So great to see you joining in the Friday Favourites link-up xx

  5. What a busy time you've had. I've been trying to shop more locally (when I'm healthy enough) too.

  6. My spring flowers are starting to bloom to and I love it! I loved Grey's Anatomy for so long and stopped watching a couple of years ago. We also have been doing some spring cleaning and getting lots of chores done around the house when we can. It feels good to check things off the list! Hope you had a great weekend!
