Last weeks meal plan went pretty well. We didn't have the chicken and sweetcorn pies, we ended up with a chippy tea from the fish and chip shop. It seems to be a tradition after a parents evening at school. We used to get takeaway when we lived in Northumberland as it was always about 7pm when we got home and it felt too late to start cooking but now we have no excuse, we're always home before 6pm, it has just became a thing.
It is the school holidays and Easter this week which is going to mix everything up with the meal planning. Stu is working today which is usually his day off and then is having Friday off as it's a Bank holiday and the buses are rubbish here. Ellie has a couple of days at school doing extra revision classes and the girls are planning a trip into town. I have a plan of what we're eating this week but I am not sure on what day. We are just winging it.
On the menu this week we have:
Red onion and bacon tart with baby potatoes and salad. It was a recipe that I got from Gousto and changed it from Leek to red onion.
Hot dogs in buns with fries and corn on the cob.
A picky tea. Sticky chicken kebabs, onion rings, garlic bread, garlic mushrooms and whatever else I find in the freezer.
Thai-Style pork patties with sweet potato wedges. We've had this from Gousto before and love the patties.
A pub meal with Stu not being at work on Friday. I don't know if that will be Thursday or Friday evening.
Home made pizza. We might even make our own dough this time instead of buying ready made.
A casserole of some sort cooked in the slow cooker. Probably beef or chicken.
What are you eating this week?
Sounds a great week. Just going to have a look at my lists and decide - there's only 3 of us this week.
ReplyDeleteThe Thai pork patties and the red onion and bacon tart both sound lovely. We've still got two weeks to go until we're on holiday. Enjoy the break ! :)
