Hello there and happy Monday. These weeks seem to be going by so quickly! I am noticing Christmas food and treats in the shops, it's won't be long. hehehe Last weeks meal plan went well, we ate everything but not on the days we had planned. The weather has been very mixed with rain and autumnal feels one day then red hot and blue skies the next.
After last week I am so back into cooking, my family love and hate it. They love the good food that they get but as much as they're not picky eaters they don't like trying new foods and I always have to convince them to eat new and different things. They weren't sure about the curried carrot soup last week but loved it and a the naan bread we had with it was perfect for dipping.
I don't have much on this week. I think I am going to dig out my bag of cross stitch stuff and give that another go. I used to really enjoy doing it but then other things just got in the way. Becky is back to work properly this week after taking most of the holidays that she has over the last 3 weeks and Ellie is of course in college.
On the menu this week we have:
Monday - Vegetable pasta bake. My family hate the idea of vegetarian meals but I like to try and sneak one in at least once a week. They love pasta so probably won't even notice this has no meat. lol
Tuesday - Mince, dumplings, mashed potato and carrots. It's supposed to be colder and grey tomorrow so we will want something hearty and filling.
Wednesday - Coca Cola chicken and rice. We love this but haven't had it in absolutely ages. I am hoping I can get it as sticky as the all you can eat place that we went to a couple of weekends ago.
Thursday - Sticky sausage, apple & root veg bake.
Friday - Pizza.
Saturday - Fried chicken, garlic bread, onion rings, fries, corn on the cob and coleslaw.
Sunday - We're going out for a roast dinner. Our favourite place locally has started serving lamb which I am so happy about. My family won't eat lamb so I never get it unless we eat out!
What are you eating this week?
mmmm that sticky sausage veg bake sound delicious. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who would try it though.
ReplyDeleteWe're having a vegetarian/pasta dish tonight too! My boys are often reluctant to try new dishes too (especially ones with vegetables in them).
ReplyDeleteI saw some Christmas pudding at the shops the other day. I can't believe how quickly the months have flown by! The vegetable pasta bake sounds great and perfect for one of my weekly meatless meals. I have been running low on inspiration, thanks for the great idea. xx
ReplyDeleteI might have been scoffing mince pies today! Haha.
ReplyDeleteJayden is always reluctant to try anything new, but Joben soon gives it a go!
Your meal plan sounds really nice especially Saturday! Yummy. xx
