This week my Word of the Week is:
I scheduled this blog post on Tuesday evening because we are away on holiday now! Hooray and finally! I have been planning this little break away since January when I booked a cottage for a weekend for a wedding we are going to and we have got a little carried away with the "little holiday".
The train strikes were announced and we knew we had to go a day earlier, then talked about it some more and decided to go away even earlier. It didn't cost that much more thanks to the hotel having a discount for booking 2 or more nights and Stu and Becky have been and are off work for the rest of this week so why not? There is a lot more to the story which I will be telling next week in a blog post but this was just the short version.
Usually when we go away I am pretty secretive about it, only a handful of people knew we were going away a few years ago for Christmas but this time we have someone staying in our house and our nice neighbours keeping an eye on things too so I don't feel like I have to keep things so quiet plus it's going to look odd tomorrow when most of this week's photos are not flowers, The Sims or everyday things for Project 365. lol
So today when you are reading this we have spent a couple of days being tourists in Newcastle which used to be somewhere we just used to go to for shopping trips and hospital appointments when we lived in Northumberland. We had a few things planned and hopefully we got to do everything including finding somewhere that sells ham and Pease pudding sandwiches. I do miss Pease pudding, they don't sell it in North Lincolnshire. Today we are off to a cottage to catch up with family and have a chippy tea by the sea which I can't wait for.
I can't believe how quickly this summer holiday has gone. It doesn't seem that long since Ellie finished school after her GCSE's and that was about 10 weeks ago. She had her 16th birthday this week which I will blog about soon and the new term starts on Monday. Ellie enrolled in college last Friday and got everything she needed. Her timetable, ID and her bus pass and found out who her tutor and teachers are. I am happy, she has been put with the female teacher and they are putting all the girls together, all 3 of them, including Ellie. lol The teacher was saying engineering still is a male dominated sector and it's good to see girls taking an interest and joining.
I hope you have had a good week?
Hope you are having a fab holiday. And get to do all the stuff. Looking forward to hearing about it
