Last weeks meal plan went well. The Heinz Beanz Filled Hash Browns from Iceland were good but not amazing. There just wasn't enough beans in them. We ate everything I had planned apart from on Sunday when we had a little fry up. Becky did the cooking on Wednesday night which gave me a nice break from the kitchen.
Us all eating together last week was a challenge. The buses were terrible, there are strikes on in Hull but they said our buses should run normally. Nope, the only bus that is running on time is the first one of the day. Stu was coming in some evenings nearly an hour and a half late and Ellie was busy doing things with friends. The only one I could rely on being home to eat was Becky.
The girls have quite an exciting week coming up. Ellie is doing her mock exams. She has been revising hard so she should do well and then on Friday half term starts. Becky has her first driving lesson this week. Hooray! It has been a long time coming. Hopefully she gets on well with the driving instructor because she really doesn't want to go back onto another waiting list. I will be spending most of the week waiting in for parcels. Stu has been ordering presents for my birthday next month and I have ordered more Christmas presents.
On the menu this week we have:
Monday - Mince and dumplings with mash. I'll be cooking it in the slow cooker.
Tuesday - I'm going to use the leftover mince mixture to make pies which we will have with chips.
Wednesday - Minestrone soup. I've never made this before so it should be interesting.
Thursday - Pork and apple sausages and potato wedges.
Friday - Pizza.
Saturday - A curry of some sort with rice and naan bread.
Sunday - A roast dinner of some sort.
What are you eating this week?
What a lovely sounding week of food! I miss putting out my meal plans out there. I might just start again.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck to Ellie with her mocks and I hope Becky has a good driving lesson. Yes lots of thoughts of Christmas here too. Have got all the toys we need now too! Not a scooby on the food front - but we always have a roast dinner of some sort.
